Jaro-Igarashi on first, so many adverts (all of which are mental) :-(

Round 1: Interesting clash of styles, rangy southpaw vs stocky slugger. Both guys land some solid shots but Igarashi with the better work.

10-9 Igarishi

Round 2: See-saw round. Jaro started aggressively but was hurt by a series of shots, only to rally well towards the end.

20-18 Iga

Round 3: Iga boxing a little more cautiously, still landing the better quality shots but Jaro looks solid & dangerous

30-27 Iga

Round 4: Best round of the fight with some good exchanges. Jaro started well but Iga rallied quickly & landed some sharp counters. Good fight so far

40-36 Iga

Round 5: Iga well on top, picking his shots well with increasing frequency. Jaro looking a bit disheartened then lands 2 big right hands which both seem to rock Iga.

50-45 Iga

Round 6: Iga was busy but a tired looking Jaro landed the cleaner, harder punches.

59-55 Iga

Round 7: Iga again busy & boxing well, he bossed that round & Jaro looks knackered

69-64 Iga

Round 8: Another Iga round, still boxing well. Jaro launched a brief attack but looks less & less effective

79-73 Iga

Round 9: Jaro looking fucked & getting outboxed but lands some big hooks. Iga looking shook but fights back, great round.

88-83 Iga

Round 10: Iga back in control, landing lots of jabs & straight shot. Jaro just keeps on plodding forward but looking ragged.

98-92 Iga

Round 11: Jaro round, getting the upperhand in the exchanges & landing some heavy blows. Iga cut, blood all over the place.

107-102 Iga

Round 12: Really close round, both guys looking very tired. 10-10

117-112 Iga, judges probably have it closer.

Fascinating fight to watch. Jaro looked a bit troubled by some early body shots & lacked the energy to sustain his attacks. Iga boxed well but did get caught by a fair few hooks, esp the right hand. He just lacked the pop to really trouble Jaro who is a tough mofo.

He was being soundly outboxed for large portions but was always dangerous. I think he really struggled with the weight.

I presumed so but I'm not sure.

He's got the WBC belt, not sure about the others. I've heard Japanese fighters only compete for WBC & WBA titles

can the ring belt even be vacated or is he just refusing to acknowledge it?

I know when Montiel unified with Hasagawa only the WBC belt was on the line then.

Uchiyama on his way to the ring now, one of the best punchers around today imo.
