The guy who came to fight won. Best outcome since that means no rematch. The last card was too wide, but either guy winning by a point or a draw would have been fair.

Lara fought to not lose and arguably did enough to win.

Canelo fought to win and arguably did enough to not lose.

Lara wasn't active enough, Canelo (also not very active) wasn't effective enough.

It was an ugly fight where neither guy really elevated their stature. Both came away with positives (Canelo got the win, Lara set out to befuddle Canelo and he did) and both came away with negatives (Canelo showed he has trouble cutting off the ring, Lara showed that when put a on a big stage he won't fight to win).

Lara showed he has the ability to beat Canelo but lacked the fortitude to ever really assert himself. Canelo showed he has the fortitude to assert himself but may come up short a bit on the skill.

One guy won in spite of himself, the other lost in spite of himself.

Ugly fight that could have gone any way but thankfully the best outcome for the sport.

Would not watch it again.

So... this is good for the sport why? If anything, it shows that when you face Canelo, you better bring two judges with you 111-117 is ridiculous. Definitely saw that coming since this was an issue in the Trout fight as well.

117-111 is ridiculous. Canelo winning is far from ridiculous.I can't think of a time someone fighting someone the stature of Canelo won by employing the nonfightplan that Lara did tonight.

One judge had a bad card - that's not good for the sport. Us not having to see a rematch is good. Sorry, but if you get on a big stage you need to fight to win. Lara did not do that (though he showed, in instances that were too few and far between, that he was more than capable of it).

Oscar did that shit for the last 3-4 rounds against Trinidad and I had zero sympathy for him when it cost him the fight. Lara did this the whole fight and barely outlanded Lara in terms of quantity. Of course the judge's favored the aggressors (who, not coincidentally, is also the star) harder (though fewer..barely) shots.

If it's an isolated case, okay, not a big deal. As I pointed out, this isn't the first time that has happened.

Get the feeling you don't like Canelo? Not necessarily from this post, but any reason why?

He is young and seems to want too fight the best even if they have a style that he struggles with.

Okay, hating on the fact that Canelo is packing judges in there really well. I guess I should be happy, right?

First, what is a carpet bagger? Second, get your shit together; being a nut-licker is bad for your health.
