Not sure if i like this or not, if it's demon possesed Ortiz that fought Berto turns up at least he'll take the fight to Alveraz, but in the end he'll be to big and strong for Ortiz

:lol: He was well over 160 on fight night against PBF wasn't he? Don't think 154 would be a problem for him.

It'll be nice to see Alvarez face someone with the speed and power to trouble him, but can see Ortiz being taken out within 6 rounds. It'll be a pretty entertaining fight thought IMO, I don't mind it.

Ortiz said a few months ago that he would move up to 154lbs at some point. With the Berto rematch off for the time being a fight with Canelo is as big a fight as he can get. If he wins he can use it as a platform to angle for the Floyd rematch he claims he wants, and if he loses he can still look to rematch Berto in 2013.

Assuming Josesito Lopez doesn't pull off the upset that is.

I have wanted to see this for a while. I think both are going to have good futures when the top top guys retire. I see Alvarez being a top star and Ortiz being the kind of guy who is always involved in big fights but never the top man.

Can see it being reasonably entertaining in the first 4 rounds or so but after that I can see Alvarez gradually wearing Ortiz down until the fight is stopped around the 9/10th round.

No. They're hinting it might be Ortiz but no announcement has yet been made. It might seem a bit arrogant if you're on Josesito Lopez's camp, but it's no different to the whispers that Manny would fight Marquez before he even fought Mosley.
