Apparently it won't be for Mares next defense but it should happen after. He's certainly deserving of a fight for a world title after his shock win over Montiel and this one makes alot of sense to make in Guadalajara considering thats where they were both born.

Anyone reckon Terrazas could beat Mares? Is he a legit world class fighter at 122? If you don't think he could beat Mares what other fights at 122 would you like to see him take?

it's a good fight but not a great fight.

i won't complain because munroe also got his shot off the strength of this fight and victor has done well since.

i have no problem with it, but mares should really do a number on victor.

He's on an 8 fight win streak since Munroe defeat. Beating Cermeno and Montiel gives him good creds. As good as it gets for Mares right now as the other fish are swimming in different waters.

Don't think he could beat Mares. Young Abner is bringing more to the table with each fight. VT is top ten but that doesn't warrant world class status these days. I think he beats Rico Ramos. Mathebula? Maybe. Rigo, nope, Donaire, nope but I think he gives Nishioka a serious run for his Yen.

:good

Vazquez Jr. is a fight I'd be interested in seeing for him as well. Fair amount of options for him if the Mares fight doesn't come off...Nishioka isn't a bad shout at all, be a great fight that.

hmmm the more I think about this, if someone like ramos had just beatene cermeno and montiel everyone would be saying he would be top 5 again.

losing to munroe is no shame really and it was a competitive fight for the most part.

I think he's clearly below donaire, rigo and mares but after that would it be fair to say their isn't much separating number 4 and number 10?

Wouldn't be top of my list for Mares, my dream fight for this year was Arce Vs Mares, would love to see that happen. I think Frankie Jr said he'll be fighting some time in Sept in Mexico.
@WritingPride: If Quigg goes the distance he'll get the nod, whether he derserves it or not, and i am also siding slighty to Monroe
