If the fights at 175lbs i'll look forward to it, If at 168 then it looses it's appeal to me as Dawson IMO will lose his advantages and will be draining himself to a weight he himself cannot be 100% sure is a good fighting weight. Then again maybe same for Ward coming up in weight but it's more realistic that in future he will fight there then Dawson so get it on plus i want to see Ward out of his comfort zone for once!.

I'm full of admiration for both guys, Both are extremely skilled and i love way Ward breaks down his foes. Dawson is like a talented enigma who needs waking up and motivating. I remember when he let his hands go late on against Pascal. My word he looked sensational but was to little to late in the end.

It's a match up for the pugilists, it's not gonna be a brawl more a technical exhibition the problem is if Ward gets to work early he could well shut the show down without any risks being taken. Dawson's the guy that can make this exciting because he's a little more loose in his attitude towards fighting although his attitude is 'not get hit, then hit'. He's fiery and doesn't mind tearing up. He's also the bigger puncher of the two and throws more combinations where as Ward's very precise and quick and rarely punches beyond 3 in a bunch.

I think it will be entertaining from my POV, but it's all about preference. I find it a intriguing battle.

Depends on what your looking for in the fight, I don't think it will be exciting but there will be a lot of skill on display, its what I call a smokers fight as supposed to a drinkers fight, if that makes sense?

I'm not that fussed about this fight - Dawson is pretty boring, imho, and Ward needs to be in with the right style to be nice to watch and I don't think that this is it. I am a bit disappointed that they made the fight in the first place tbh - I had hoped that Ward would try to unify at SMW and Dawson would try to unify at LHW and we might cull a few of the champions at each weight. I'd rather people didn't hop around the weight divisions quite so much, personally. It'll be fought at a catchweight, next... :-(

I don't see Dawson winning more than 3 rounds in this fight. Especially as it's at 168

People are calling for Ward to move up to 175 but I don't think there's even much there for him. There's no point fighting Hopkins. He could fight the winner of Pascal-Cloud but then what?

Should still fight Bute :yep

Well he's got to fight somebody, having dominated the now clear no.2 in the division there's nothing at 168 either.

Froch - Ward II wouldn't go any different, i'm a huge Froch fan but he got near enough shut out in the first fight, and I don't think there's anything he can do to make it a close fight, I do think he'd make a slightly better show of it in a rematch though. Ward would beat Martinez up too, Ward is much too well rounded to have much trouble with Martinez.

I respect Ward but i find his style of fighting to offend my eyes to the point of crippling pain. the only person i can see bringing a semi exciting fight out of him is Pascal @ 175 , but i cant see Ward touching it with a barge pole to be honest.

Andre Ward is always a pleasure to watch for me. Him going to work on Chad will be quality viewing & I actually like Chad more than most on here & ESB seem too. I don't think he's any great shakes but when he's fully switched on he can be a solid operator. Full credit to him for cutting to 168 to make it happen as well

The way some fans have reacted to Ward/Dawson has annoyed me too. They always complain about the best never fighting the best but this is the best 168lber is fighting the best 175lber & people still slate it. Yes, there's potential for it to be boring in some people's eyes but you're getting what you asked for! Not particularly aimed at anyone on here btw

it can be a 'yawn fest' all it likes, but two of the very finest fighters in the world will have my eyes glued to the screen even if they just feint and weave for 12 rounds,

this fight is the shit
