So Lee Purdy goes to Atlantic City next weekend to somehow fight for the IBF belt at welterweight. Devon Alexander has had a few questionable performances recently and many don't seem to rate him much at top level anymore but recent dominant wins over Maidana and Bailey were solid if not spectacular.

Purdy is of course really up against it and you can get odds of about 12/1 on him coming away the winner but does anyone here give Purdy a good chance of an upset?

He has no chance whatsoever, he's average in every single department, his power is overrated and Devon's got a solid chin too, so not even a chance of a one punch KO either.

Fair play to him and Hearn for getting this fight and this is probably going to be a very good pay day for him but he's so badly over matched.

No chance, not even a punchers chance. Alexander has been in with much more skilled opponents with much more power and outclassed them (maidana, bailey) and also lasted the distance against matthys, even if he shouldve lost.

He's borderline top 5 in Britain, and there's a big gap between him and Gavin, Vassell and Brook. Alexander won't be stopped and he's dealt with opponents better in every field, I like Purdy but how is he expecting to win this?

I don't expect Purdy will even get close enough to land on Alexander.. For those that say he has a punchers chance are clutching at straws too I imagine. Although he can dig at domestic level Alexander went the distance with Matthysse.... So I doubt he's worrying about the power of Lee Purdy.

Peter McDonagh, Colin Lynes and Denton Vassell...

Michael Jennings-Miguel Cotto
Gary Lockett-Kelly Pavlik
Wayne Elcock-Arthur Abraham
Gavin Rees-Adrien Broner

Think I gave all a better chance of winning going in than Purdy

Edit: Jennings maybe pushing it but Cotto had just lost to Pacquaio

He has very, very little hope. Alexander's chin is solid and he's not getting out-boxed by Purdy over the long haul.

Lee's a tidy little domestic level fighter, but he isn't even in the general vicinity of Alexander's class or the class of most of Devon's recent opponents; Bailey, Matthysse, Kotelnik, Maidana, Bradley, etc. The puncher's chance is virtually non-existent also.

Alexander by extremely wide decision.

Even if he can somehow make it a close fight (wich I don't believe), he's never going to get the decision.
Alexander will beat him by wide UD, and I really think he's going to make "Purr Purr" look very average.
