Just wondering what fight most sticks in your mind above any other & for what reason?

The 1st fight between Fidel Bassa & Dave 'Boy' McAuley is the one that sticks in my mind. While I had watched boxing well before this bout took place, it was the level of excitement it gave me watching it live that made into an hardened boxing fan.

I had never heard of McAuley before this fight but he had won the British Fly title in his previous bout. Put on his arse in the 1st round it looked like a mismatch but would turn into a 13 round war (ah, the 15 round days). McAuley had Bassa on the floor & hurt, the ninth when Bassa was down twice & would have been stopped on the 3 knockdown rule if a third KD had occurred. Dave eventually ran out of juice but what a fight!

Probably Mayweather/Hatton. That's when I started becoming a full time boxing fan really. I always liked boxing as a kid but didn't really follow it much until then. Loved all the build up and enjoyed watching Floyd's boxing.

The 2nd fight I ever stayed up for was Roy Jones against Felix Trinidad I think.

All of this. Would've stayed up for Jones-Trinidad but was away. The second boxing fight I saw was Chagaev vs. Skelton. Was fucking horrible.

Beforehand, the fight I've been most hyped for was probably Williams-Martinez II. As a huge Martinez fan it was a chance for him to get redemption/justice (and make me some money).

After the fight, I don't think I've been as affected as by Agbeko-Mares. While I didn't have much affiliation to either man, I was left absolutely fuming by the outcome.

Probably one in a nightclub where some cunt knocked my front tooth out. Hurt like fuck the next morning combined with a massive hangover.

Seriously though either Benn vs Mclellan or Calzaghe vs Lacy

Froch-Bute. I've never bewn as hyped for a fight beforehand and it was also my first live pro boxing show and what a choice it was to be my first! Dont think it'll be topped tbh
It was a friend of mines first live show and he says the same. Going to be a tough act to follow but I have a feeling Kessler v Froch II may offer a decent challenge.

First ever boxing fight I saw (don't laugh, please ) was Hopkins-Jones II with my cousin, and I fucking loved it. I thought Bernard Hopkins was called Brenette Hopkins and that Roy's reflexes and ability were astounding, despite him being utterly shot at this point.

I don't really have a fight that got me "into" boxing as the one that had the biggest impact on me because I've pretty much been into it as long as I can remember. The first fight I remember that got me REALLY into it was Naz-Badillo but I'd been into/around it from before that fight anyways.

Main three would probably be Dunne-Cordoba, Cotto-Margarito and Agbeko-Mares. The first because I was there and it was shitting mental really, Cotto-Margarito because I have a complete **** love for Cotto and I can't remember ever feeling as depressed because of a fight, and Agbeko-Mares because much like Wallet it pissed me off beyond belief, most annoyed I can ever remember being because of boxing.

For me, I just can't look past Froch-Pascal. Watching Carl win his first world title in front of a local crowd in my home town of Nottingham was one of the most memorable nights of my life, boxing or otherwise. Absolute tear-up of a fight and a totally insane, savage atmosphere. I've travelled all over the country for boxing and the atmosphere simply never comes close to topping what the Nottingham locals conjure up.

At the risk of looking like my usual Froch nuthanging self, the Kessler and Bute fights come as clear runners up for me as well. The atmosphere in Herning that night was insane and really gave me a glimpse of how travelling fans must feel coming to Nottingham, while the fight didn't disappoint with another war that Kessler just edged.

The Bute fight speaks for itself. So many make-or-break factors going into that fight, and Carl executed the man who many claimed to be the top fighter in the division. Probably the best atmosphere I have ever seen at a fight. Incredible.

Oh, and Cotto-Margarito I. I'm an absolutely huge Cotto fan and that fight just tore me up, even before learning of the handwrap issues surrounding Margarito with the Mosley fight. Heartbreaking.
