It's onwards and upwards for Burns. He can go to the US and beat any Lightweight in the world IMO. But what about Mitchell. That's twice he has fallen short at world level, and he was stopped in the process against a modest puncher in Burns.

Where does he go from here? Does he take on the Prizefighter winner? Assuming its Crolla, Matthews or Sykes, they can all be fun fights, and ones which Mitchell should do well in. I don't see the Rees fight happening, what with the Warren-Hearn war, but it would be intriguing.

On an international stage, someone like Jason Latzau or Linares?

Think prizefighter winner myself and try force himself into position for mando shot at British. I don't think he'll make it on the world stage again, he looks to vunulable early in fights. I'm sure Murray had him buzzed a few times if my memory serves me right

He could rematch Murray - it would likely be an entertaining fight. Maybe a lesser opponent, then the Prizefighter winner, before testing his toes in European waters while looking out for a weaker LW title-holder.

Yeah Murray caught him twice in the second which seemed to shake him.

A rematch with Murray wouldn't be a bad option at all. How about Harrison?

I think the damage might already be done, with his lifestyle and multiple long layoffs.

Under usual circumstances I'd say beg for a slot on the next FW show, smack a journeyman around for 8 rounds to get the defeat out of your system.

That's what fighters don't do enough these days, they have six months or more off. Just get back in, and back to winning ways asap.

He has such glaring technical flaws and, in his mid 20s, he has only a little time to address them. But only if he cuts the primadonna shit and works. He needs to be in the gym every week, he needs to be fighting more regularly and proving he wants it.

It could be quite fun, but Scott's yet to beat anyone even decent since his return.
I'd throw Scott in with someone like Carl Johannsen next. He throws fresh air shots for 6 rounds against an unknown and then wants a World title shot. No way based on that performance.:nono

Mitchells reward for his showing last night should be a date with Dirty Derry.

Isn't Derry fighting in something ridiculous like his third Prizefighter?

he's one of them fighters that's above domestic level but below world level :(
Not really a bad thing no shame whatsoever in staying around domestic level and defending the lonsdale belt for keeps. When we say short of "world level" he is probably quite a bit short of true world level he is short of ABC belt level. Mitchell should get the British and defend it regularly and as many times as he can. Keep himself busy and earn a bit of coin. Then if he does dominate at domestic level. He might get one last chance and get shipped off to America as an oponnent for a belt holder like his vanquished foe Murray.
