The fact it was a robbery is exactly why i wouldve wantedthe rematch
Yeah I get your point. Not to sound condescending (it will now ), I watched it live at the time & everyone knew who won. Even Chavez knew at the end, King & Sulaiman worked their magic. Anyway Chavez wasn't interested after that & at least Sweet Pea kept his title. If it had got Sweet a decent payday then all good, but I don't think he was that bothered after, he hated Don King.

Holmes-Norton is a good choice, really distinguish who is the best of the two despite me believing that Holmes won clearly enough. Close fight, though.

Fenech-Villasana? First meeting was a cracker of a battle.

A recent one is Huck vs. Cunningham. Once Adamek moved up I thought those two should have met to determine who was the best at cruiserweight. Plus I enjoyed the first fight.

Duran/Buchanan is another one. Not saying Duran wouldn't have won, but the way it ended should have resulted in a rematch.

Matthew Saad Muhammad and Yaqui Lopez fought twice, with Muhammad winning both of them by knockout. Granted their second fight is one of the greatest of all time with crazy action in it, but I think Muhammad proved his superiority over the man at that point, and their is no need for a rematch.

Basilio deserved a rematch with Gavilan definitely, the first fight was razor close, I just had Gavilan sneaking it by a point. Dont think Basilio was quite at his prime at that point either, he could very well have beaten Gavilan in a rematch.

Personally I think the man in my avatar deserved a second fight with James Toney, after he clearly won their first contest imo. Not the first time Johnson was given the raw end of the deal either

Just found out about this place and I must say it's nice to be here amongst some familiar names.

As to this thread I would've loved to see a Tszyu-Phillips rematch almost straight away. Vince took Kostya's "0" but Tszyu was having managerial/promotional difficulties at the time and a chance to recttify that upset would have been a ripper of a contest.

That said Tszyu's team did a great job of matching him so he could rebuild his confidence and get his career back on track so maybe a Phillips rematch wasn't ever on the cards.
