I know i know. Nothing is original. Everything's been done before. But lets be real, we can all come up with a couple examples of a fighter changing the game by adopting a certain strategy or using a certain physical quality. Ali would be one for example.

Joe Gans and the science of punching opponents on certain points of their head which make them more susceptible to being knocked out than others, and doing it with punches that they don't see coming, as opposed to telegraphing shots which may be harder.

I could be wrong but wasnt James J corbett recognised as one of the first real 'stylists' of the squared circle? He was supposed to have fought a different style to the men of his day.
yeah man, he was considered a scientist, because of his revolutionary style of focusing on hitting without being hit, as opposed to brawling it out with his man, he dazzled the audiences back then, it's thanks to the likes of him that boxing gets called the sweet science, absolutely massive to our sport
