It's a tough one. Wladimir really does have a great jab. I would say Larry Holmes' is probably better, and maybe Lewis also. Liston had a fine jab.

Hard to say.

To Wlad's detriment, he'd not faced anyone capable of negating one, to the calibre of opponents that the likes of Lewis and Holmes faced.

I don't think we've ever seen a group of fighters so petrified of fighting the best in their division, to the point where they'll just sit back and do nothing, fight nobodies and wait for him to retire.

I'm not sure I've seen a heavyweight dominate fighters so much with the jab, you could tie his right arm behind his back and he'd still be champion.

back further, old jersey joe had a good jab

thats not really answering the question put though, just observering what i thought was other great jabs too

Lewis is about equal, & that's it. I don't think Liston or Holmes could hope to out-jab Wlad to a decision, so Liston would have to try for a knockout & Larry would...

... Need King's judges (see Spoon & Williams fights), for his biggest Gift of all.

I don't think Holmes or Liston could necessarily out-jab Wladimir, (there's more factors than just the jab) but I do think that their jabs are pretty much on the same level, or maybe a bit better or a bit worse.

Lewis and Holmes @doug.ie Pinklon Thomas is a great shout, the version that fought Weaver was absolute class IMO, iron chin, heavy handed but an arm puncher really, but great jab and could move his feet and head well for such a big bloke.

Ali had speed and footwork which made his jab an amazing weapon.

Holmes has the best technical jab I've ever seen in hw history.

Outside of those two, noone has a chance of outjabbing wlad imo.
Ali should've been mentioned already!!!

I'd say Lennox's jab would take Wlad off his rhythm, especially considering what would be coming after it. Lennox would wipe Wlad out IMO.

The thing is, Holmes may not be able to out-jab Wladimir but I think the thread is asking who's jab was simply superior.

I think Lewis would stop Wlad early but I can't see him outjabbing Wlad. I can see him walking LWad down and pushing his shit in on the inside though :good

The best measure of superiority is who's jab would be the most superior in a jabbing contest in the ring. I think holmes would outjab Wlad, his jab was quicker and more pinpoint, he should beat Wlad to the punch.
