Hearing the Maloney interview on BoxNation it seems that Sky have subcontracted all domestic boxing rights to Matchroom. Presumably Hatton could have continued with Sky, if he worked through Eddie Hearn

Is it good for us in that Coldwell etc could get on Sky TV via Hearn, or is the Monopoly on Sky bad for the business?

If Froch retires and Brook and Khan get pasted (again for the latter) then they don't have much to market really. Prizefighter is hit and miss and Rees, Barker, Frampton etc aren't marquee enough to carry the channel alone.

But add Joshua, Stalker, Ogogo & Selby who will sign up in September and the stable will be full again

If Eddie works with the likes of Dave Coldwell and Steve Wood on Sky that would be a good thing especialy Coldwell. We can only go on how well Eddie has done so far and he has done well.
If he keeps putting on the quality cards he has been doing then thats great.Frank was only slagging off Boxnation the other day now he is in bed with then but only has a deal for 5 shows a year,Price better sell out the echo because the tv money is likely to be shit aswell.Sky have looke at who could deliver the best viewing figures and by far it was Hearn so he was their safest best especialy with all there other sport they deliver for Sky.

I suspect to co-promote with Eddie Hearn the quality on the bill has to be good, not just the main event

So far Hearn is doing a good job, the cards have been good and they have had a big fight feel to them, how long it continues remains to be seen, now he has Sky by the balls, will the quality start to slide slowly?
And get rid of fucking prizefighter, it's an abomination of the sport.

At the moment, I think things look very good. The Hearn monopoly doesn't concern me right now because I still think he is vulnerable if he doesn't produce. Maloney/Warren being together helps to make some good domestic fights. Where ever Hatton ends up is going to be important

Imo, Sky shouldn't give a shit about individual promoters and focus on the fighters themselves. Smith should have backed up his "that's what we want, deliver it" statement.
Instead he has made it tougher to make fights like Quigg v Frampton by banishing all the other promoters.

Fuck Hearn - a promoter only making big cards and novelty tough man tournaments is not good for the sport.
With his Sky contract what do you want him to do,main events with a commonwealth title like the old FFN dross or 3 top fight on a card every couple of weeks,I know you hate the praise the guy gets but for what Sky wants in the currant climate he is doing a great job.Let Boxnation show fights in half empty leisure centres for Commonwealth title against Afrobums. There are plenty of smallhall promtors who do a great job and i wouldn`t be suprised if Hearn worked with Coldwell ocationally.

Until he actually DOES work with Coldwell, etc, let's leave off giving him praise for making big shows using fighters other promoters built.

I have no problem with Hearn doing what Sky have asked of him, but he has reduced the amount of boxing on Sky, he has monopolised the dates with the clear intention of getting fighters to move over to his stable (but only ones that are established and will make him money right off the bat), and he's single-handedly responsible for the Prizefighter abomination which has done nothing to improve the sport's profile.

My problem is with the unchecked praise he receives for basically buying a boxing stable and then using his dad's connections to control the delivery channel. Wait until he does something all on his own, then lavish him if he deserves it.
