I was thinking about this the other day. People always go on about Floyd not standing a chance against Robinson, Leonard, Hearns, Duran, etc. But these are all ATGs, and you'd be hard pressed to favour any fighter over them

So, what I want to know is, who is the WORST fighter Floyd Mayweather loses to. Does a fighter, who isnt an all toke great, have the style to beat him? The fighter has to range from Super Featherweight to Light Middle.

I also think Williams has the style to beat him. A tall, rangy volume punching southpaw who throws plenty of jabs

There was a time where I thought Paul Williams would've beat him but I don't see that any more. I think Floyd might've struggled on but it wouldn't take him long to adjust and then he'd have mostly controlled it.

This is a good question though, I'm having a hard job thinking now

I'd favour Floyd over Williams at LMW, but I think he would've had a real chance at beating him. I can't think of a 'worse' fighter that I would give as big a chance against Floyd.

This on reflection is a very tough question to answer. Of course, it's all hypothetical but picking one fighter as the worst possible opponent to beat him is hard because that in itself is subjective. For example, if I say Honeyghan and someone else chooses someone they perceive as worse than him to beat Floyd, not everyone will agree. Am I just confusing myself or is it really ahrd to try and pick one fighter?

Interesting thread though- I'd say the best way of doing it would be picking someone who is perceived as being worse than, or not as celebrated as, Floyd himself

As the worst!?
The question isnt who is a bad fighter, its who is the worse he gets beat of and Griffith will be around that mark imo. Great fighter but had a lot of losses to guys most people wont have even heard of. I think it'll be that level of fighter where the line is drawn - a great guy who is still very beatable on his off nights.

I think calling those fighters ATG's is being generous to other fighters who are generally called ATGs who can't hold a candle to them, them guys you just mentioned are of the greatest we've ever seen.

I think if we're going to consider non great fighters who could possibly do it we could look at Vernon Forrest at 147 or 154. If we're going to go further down the weight divisions then I think a fighter like Ismael Laguna who is considered great by a lot of boxing fans could be considered, he certainly would face Floyd with a proposition stylistically which we haven't seen him faced with very often so the speculation is credible on that one.

That said I think Floyd is good enough to deserve people to be picking him over great fighters like Antonio Cervantes at 140 and Locche too. I can see why people would pick him to lose too though.

Bloody hell lads Emile Griffith was a fucking amazing fighter. I know you're not saying he was bad but I don't even think he fits into this. I'd pick him over Floyd.
