Realistically the Mikey Garcia fight fight won't happen due to the promotional beef. Could bring Chris John over I suppose. Salido would be a fun fight to watch

He should fight Chris John now IMO. With last night being his first win at 126 it wouldn't bother me if he fought a fighter of a lesser standing though.

Gradovich, the IBF man. I haven't seen the fight though, got a link to it lad?

Also I need to see Mares-De Leon and Murray-Martinez and Canelo's last fight, I'm slacking right now so today and tomorrow I catch up.

If he's determined to stay at 126, the Chris John fight would be really good. But I'd love to see him going back down and taking on Rigondeaux. Hopefully Mares' ability doesn't get as underestimated as it has before after finally getting that stoppage at World Level now because in my mind, he's pushing top 5 p4p now.

He'd have a strong chance vs Rigo even if he wouldn't start favourite.

Is Garcia moving up for the Lopez fight btw?

Mares can have fun fights with Caballero, Gonzalez and Salido for now - I wouldn't mind seeing the Fortuna fight either but I think they'll wait for that one. Garcia would beat Mares imo so it will be better for them to hold of and try and make a money fight with Donaire now that he has been beaten.

John looks like an ideal match-up on the face of it, if Mares isn't going to go back down to 122, but I don't know how likely it is that he'll leave the eastern side of the globe. I think Mares would take it comprehensively enough anyways, John hasn't looked all that convincing lately. Even though it was stopped far too early for anyone to really know, it looked like Hosono was going to give him hell last time out.

Jhonny Gonzalez or Salido could be pretty entertaining assuming neither have slipped too drastically.

Agreed completely. I was saying exactly this last night too. It's probably not even his best win but regardless it's another statement and hopefully he doesn't get sold short like he has been by some people before this fight. If the consensus isn't that he's above Froch...........:twisted
