Will it be one of the belt holders? Someone on the fringe like Brook or Quigg? Or will we have to wait for one of our prospects to step up? I'm talking about being the man at the weight, not holding a strap.

How long til Ward moves up though? If he moves up for his next fight (whenever that is) does Froch inherit it automatically (assuming he beats Kessler) on account of beating every other name in the division? Or should he fight a Stieglitz or whoever to start a new lineage?

I think it will be soon. He's ran out of opponents at super middleweight already. Although with Bute-Pascal put back, I'm not sure who he would fight at LHW either.

I'd probably consider Froch the man at 168 if Ward moved up even without fighting Stieglitz, yeah.

ye i'd consider him the man, hopefully he gets worldwide recognition as "The Champ" of the division though. I really wish Ward would stop pissing about and just move up already, fight Dawson at 175 if he has to, just get it done, whys he waiting around?

Thing is I can see the doing Froch v Ward II if Froch beats Kessler just based on neither having any better options unless one moves up first to take a belt and then do it at LHW - that could put a dent in Froch become number 1 in either division.

Who was our last one? Khan?
maybe if he'd beaten Garcia but even then there was the whole Peterson issue

Trying to think and I really cant, must be Haye at Cruiser?

I think most had Khan top towards the end of 2011, just before the Peterson fight. Bradley hadn't fought in nearly a year and was signed to fight Casamayor.
ye i had him as my no1, but I dont know if he was truly the champ at the weight, its tough

Was Calzaghe the man at 175 after beating Hopkins?

That was a month after Haye's last fight at 200.
Calzaghe! How did I forget! He was champ at 168, I can't remember the divisional picture at 175 at the time of him beating BHop but I'd say it was fair to say he was, unless someone recalls something to the contrary?
