That's an excellent point, I think to be a true great you need to win on the road. If Ward is as good as he says (and he says he can stop Froch with two good hands) he should have no problem giving Froch a return fight in the UK.I'd like to see a Ward rematch just as long as it's over here. I'm sick of American world champions these days basically fighting on home turf everytime they box. I'd like to see how Ward handles coming into hostile territory in a foriegn country against a man hellbent on avenging his only other defeat (assuming he beats Kessler of course).
That would make an exciting contest. He could rematch Dirrell in the US. I'd like to see that; if he can beat him more convincingly than last time I'd be more confident in him making a better fist of a second bout with Ward.
I understand what you're saying but there aren't many options for Ward. I can't think of many fights for him which would be competitive.I'm not at all bothered to see Ward-Froch II to be honest. The fight wasn't exactly close or controversial, most (including me) had Ward a clear, decisive winner. I had Ward winning 117-111 IIRC, so no need to see a rematch. They could fight in the States, England, Canada, Monaco, The Moon, etc. And Ward is still the superior fighter.
True. At the very least Froch grabbed a few rounds, and if he beats Kessler he'll have been on a very nice three-fight win streak and would have at least earned a rematch with Ward.I understand what you're saying but there aren't many options for Ward. Yeah I think it makes sense.True. At the very least Froch grabbed a few rounds, and if he beats Kessler he'll have been on a very nice three-fight win streak and would have at least earned a rematch with Ward.
Part of the argument stems from if Froch and Ward were to fight again the venue in the UK would be much larger than the one in the US.Don't understand how Ward is arrogant to stay in the States. He's top dog. Calzaghe did the exact same thing, for example. Fought in the UK for fucking ages. He contested a grand total of three fights outside the UK in a 46 fight career, many of 'em being title bouts.
Was never a Calzaghe fan and he should have travelled. My point about Ward being arrogant applies to all American champions. Everybody has to go to their land. Over the years they have gotten more and more insistent about having home advantage everytime. World champions from other countries travel. I mean, they are World champions afterall.Don't understand how Ward is arrogant to stay in the States. He's top dog. Calzaghe did the exact same thing, for example. Fought in the UK for fucking ages.
