Who's the greatest amateur ever?

Who is the best amateur boxer ever? You can judge it how you want, be that medal haul or performance or whatever. Is it Papp? Stevenson? Savon? Kindelan? Or maybe even Rigondeaux or Lomachenko? Or do people think people like Ray Leonard, Whitaker or Roy Jones etc deserve an honourable mention for good perfomances in Olympics?

Personally I favour ones that consistently perform over various tournaments but can't pick a no. 1, if pushed I'd say Papp

 yeah fuck it I'll just take your guys word for it haha
Not sure where this thread has gone to now but my pick is probably felix savon
Lomachenko is crazy good. He's 100% the real deal. He's gonna be an amazing pro.

EDIT: On-topic, I'm not sure. Lomachenko definitely has a case. I don't rate Savon beating up on teenagers to be honest.
I say savon but the way i ratw lomachenko and rigondeux ... they might come first for me. I dunno, tough question.

Looking up Savon's major results at big events, there isnt all that much teenagers on his record. Dont why people always accuse him of this?
How do people rate olandier solis as an amateur? Silver in the 2005 'world cup', 2 golds in the pan american games 1999 and 2003, 3 world amateur championship gold medals 2001, 2003 and 2005 and an olympic gold in athens 2004
Between lomachenko, Rigo, Papp and Savon.

I favour the former two as opposed to the latter two.
Yeah, Papp is in the discussion. Three time Olympic gold medalist wasn't he? Pretty astounding achievement.

I think Stevenson looks better than SAvon....in terms of skill....just saying that because I know you like to rate fighters using the 'eye test'...and Stevenson is fucking amazing to watch!
that's why I'm inclined to go with rigo and lomachenko they just look incredible. Watching them in the games had you wondering if any pro even had a chance of beating them.
Kalule.
Lomachenko's record speaks for itself
Dunno bout the best but dick mc taggart had a record and a half.

Nearly 650 fights

2 dozen defeats

Gold medal olympic winner

winner of val barker trophy
Rigo is the best i've seen.

Others in the discussion are Savon,Stevenson and Pap.

Have you seen Vasyl Lomachenko before? He is the future in the pro ranks.

His amateur record was 396-1
2 Olympic golds in 2 different weight divisions
2 World Championships in 2 different weight divisions
Winner of Val Barker trophy
Avenged his only loss

Some people aren't as impressed with him as with a stylist like Rigondeaux, but you have to watch many of his fights and see how he adapts to any style to really appreciate his boxing genius. I've never seen a fighter like him before.
I am one of the few that thinks Loma only needs about 10 fights to be able to maul Broner.

Just like I said in ESB that I entertain characters and opinions that aren't my own, in CHB it's about engaging in banter and have an entertaining WWE-like persona here, entertaining characters that aren't really my true character but the 'Persona's' character, entertaining certain beliefs that aren't really my true beliefs, saying certain things to certain people because I know it'll playfully wind them in particular up a little, all fun but increasingly boring and childish, there's no malice involved from my part, The Undefeated Gaul is no different to Alberto Del Rio from WWE and the image Alberto tries to deliver to the crowd. Something to make regular posting more fun, not to be misconstrued for genuine sadistic narcissism.

I don't think he needs any, I would bet my life on Lomachenko beating him if they fought tomorrow. Broner might end up being a good fighter but at the moment he's very much a work in progress imo. Whereas Lomachenko is already a complete fighter, he just needs to turn pro now and collect his accolades/money.
It's going to be incredibly exciting. He'll be competing at the top level in very little time.
