This isn't a bash Warren thread or a love Eddie thread. Just genuinely interested why Frank never seems to put on a good set of undercard fights, take the Burns V Mitchell fight the chief support is John Simpson vs Dai Davies, which for a world title fight is pretty terrible undercard. Is it just because he thinks the main event will sell out the place so there is no need for him to arrange better undercard fights? Or does he have to many fighters on his books to get good fights for them all? I can't remember the last time on a Warren undercard there was a fight where I wasn't almost certain who was going to win. All the other promoters seem to pack bills with three or four close fights but Warren doesn't.

Thing is Haye has charisma and a personality that no one else has, hes exciting just listening to him hes most exciting fighter in and outside the ring in Boxing. I don't want or need a stacked undercard for a Haye fight as all i want to see is Haye.

Klitschko's put on a entertainment show, the ring entrances and the music before hand probably costs more than a Fish Eyes card put together, they entertain us outside the ring the Klitschko's they produce(German shows in general infact) Boxing how it should be produced all over the World.

Key thing also is both Fighters are big draws huge main events whoever they fight, whilst Fish Eyes fighters are boring below world level fighters in general who headline fights.

The sooner Fish Eyes chokes to death on his bowl of cheerios the better for Boxing, his shows are boring, slow, long outdated and rarely 50/50 fights. Hearn has the future of British Boxing sorted. Big bold flash shows, stacked with fights it gets you excited whilst a Fish Eyes card makes you wish you had something else to watch.

I think with Warren its more a tool for signing young fighters. They know they will get TV time very early on because he gives it to guys on their debut. Also he will put on a bad undercard fight if he get can fighters who may not be well known or any good but have a good local following, then he gets them plugging BoxNation so that the local followers who may not follow boxing buy the show to support the local fighter.

His undercards are normally good IMO :conf

Look at his cards in the 90s - some were legendary!

Even the Khan-Barerra card was quality. Mag 7. He had Mitchell/Clev/Degale on that year too.

Mitchell/Katsidis had Burns, Chisora, Gavin, Degale and Danny Williams on.

Khan/Salita wasn't bad either.

Warren has worked toa fairly successful if simple formulad since the mid 90's you have 1 maybe 2 big stars who have crossover appeal. Hamed Khan Hatton Calzaghe. The pile on your prospects on the undercard and wait for them to develop in generally mediocre fights. If any of these undercard prospects start to come into meaningful fights you let them takeover. This is rare however as he is only able to focus on a couple of stars at a time so now we are onto Cleverly/Chisora but then Bellew Brook Gavin all get a bit forgotten.

I really do think Warren is out of touch with things, either that or he don't care? It's not the mid 90s any more, its 2012, there is information and video clips of 99% of fighters, fans have never been so clued up as in this point of time, yet he cannot see that and continues to try and fob everyone off with poor matchmaking and bare faced lies, its insulting.
