Now then everyone......Just wondered why it is that we all love Boxing so much???

What is it that draws you back fight after fight, night after night, day after day on this here forum and various other Boxing related sites???

Is it the pugilistic nature of the sport?
The glory of the sport?
The history of the sport?
Is it to see someone get smashed to bits and layed out?
Is it cos you have a favourite fighter and you only follow them?

Just what is it that draws you back all the time, and why do you love it so much???

For me its all about seeing something awe inspiring, something that makes you jump up and go WOW, or FUCK ME, or DID YOU SEE THAT SHIT!

That gets me going time and time again, its like a drug, its like scoring the winner, its like a big massive chemical release that you want again and again!!!!

Man I love Boxing!!!!

What you think personally???

Cheers.

Its just sport in purest sense of the word, 2 competitors in the oldest sport there is.

It can be ruthless but there is an honesty in that I can identify with, there is no place to hide in the ring & no teammates to help you out.

Nothing gets the blood pumping like a good old fashioned tear up. Oh & McCallum-Jackson > Hagler-Hearns

It's weird, boxing holds the same place music does for me. Hearing a great album is like watching a great fight. Different fighters like different artists, and finding something new of a similar sound is always exciting. Watching a fighter in full flow like hearing a melody that resonates with me.

It's mad, but that's how boxing got for me when I started getting into it, and that's how it is now. Like music, there's loads for me to discover yet and funnily enough very little new stuff that inspires me.

I think everybody can identify the one on one nature of the sport. It really is competition in its base form. Mano-a-mano you put yourself your body on the line. Its putting yourself out there knowing you have so much to lose.

Its a "moments" sport as well the best teams in football will play every so often Barca Real, Man U Man City. Even more often in tennis Nadal Djokovic Federer. In boxing you meet them once twice if you are lucky in the ring. The anticipation the "what if" factor is so much greater than any other sport. I think the body contact is also very appealing to most of us. There are few real competitive sports that allow essentially unrestrained contact that involves a high level of technical skill.

For me its the excitement of watching two guys go at it.. Toe to toe landing big punches on each other. I'm a fan of a guy having skills too.. But theres nothing more exciting than watchin an all out War.. Not surprisingly Froch is my favourite fighter by a mile atm. Also Love watching Huck.. Who technically is shit, I know. But fuck he's exciting.
