This is the most logical fight to make, Ward really wants to shut kessler and froch up for good, and it's a good fight between the top guys at 168.

Obviously it's pretty much a guaranteed win for ward, but can he go one better and ko either of them?

I do think he'd could become the for man to stop froch, who is so easy to hit, reason being ward is more aggressive now and would have two hands this time.

How do you see it all panning out?

I see ward winning again against either, froch representing himself much better though. Ward definitely wouldnt be the first to stop froch, he may well have both his hands but he'd need sledgehammers attached to them. Hes certainly not noted for his power

What would froch do differently in order to have any more success?

I see it being worse for him this time, as I say Ward has both hands and is the more intelligent and adaptable fighter, who I feel would be better suited to fight Froch since he now knows exactly what Froch brings.

Ward doesn't knockout anyone apart from a drained Dawson.

He probably beats both in rematches of course but I think they'd both be closer than the first fights.
Uncle Roe.

Many people keep saying this "it would be closer"

Why would it "be closer"

Is Ward not the smarter boxer with the better counterpunching and the more adaptive/reactive style?

Did Ward not have a broken hand in Froch 1.

Why would it "be closer"

Serious question, because other than wishful thinking I just don't see it.

I think Ward could stop Froch, actually. He's not that sort of fighter, but he stung Carl several times. If he committed to an assault in the mid-rounds, he could get Carl out of there. Froch isn't the iron chinned monster many make him out to be.

Well in regards to Carl Froch, if he boxes and tries to control the range better I think he can do better than last time. I only gave Froch 2 rounds I think in their first fight so he wouldn't have to do much for it to be closer anyway

As for the Kessler fight, well that was awful. I gave Ward most of the rounds but he must've butted Kessler half a dozen times at least in that fight.

Is Ward not the smarter boxer with the better counterpunching and the more adaptive/reactive style?
Just because Ward is the smarter boxer doesn't mean he's the only one that could adjust.

It's not wishful thinking. I like Froch and Kessler (and Ward actually) but don't really care if they ever beat Ward or not.

It would be closer with Froch as i think Froch won the last 2 rounds iirc, and i think this "new style" he's got would actually have some success against Ward. He'd have to commit to keeping it long, and using these raiding bursts and getting back out, i think in the first he thought he'd bully Ward which Ward loved.

I would say it's 99% certain Ward could not stop Froch, aside from Dawson he hasn't shown power at the elite level, and Froch has a great chin

Yes he is
TBH he was hurt against Dirrell and wobbled against Kessler, the man can be knocked out that's for certain but I doubt Ward would do it. In terms of beating Ward he's got very little chance. He'd have to fight a very negative fight and Ward would have to be off form. Kessler seemed to be getting into things when his fight against Ward was stopped but I think he's faded now and wouldn't do particularly well if they fought later this year.

Froch has decent chin but not solid granite

Taylor dropped him, Dirrell almost KO'd him and he was shaken up a bit in the kessler and pascal fights.

Also one armed Ward definatley gave him something to think about

I think we are so used to seeing our fighters going down off clean shots from world level opponents that we get a bit confused about chin ratings.

I'd say he clearly is iron chinned or near as damn it. There's no problem with being shaken by fighters like Pascal, Ward, Kessler, Taylor or Dirrell - the fact that only one of them put him down and he got up easily with a clear head suggests to me that Froch has one of the best chins in boxing.

 :patsch

Fuck it, I'm gonna bite..

Taylor dropped him.. yeah Taylor can punch. And it was a good shot. Anyone can get dropped or hurt. I think anyone that knows anything about boxing should know that.

Dirrell almost KO'd him? What?

As for being shaken up in the Kessler and Pascal fights.. well fucking obviously. They were absolute slugfests where both threw bombs for 12 rounds.

Well I said he had a decent chin, just not granite.

Oliver McCall is Granite, taking power shots flush over and over again from lewis while casually wandering around the ring in a drug addled daze

that's granite
