It's official. WBA/IBF/WBO/IBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko will defend against unbeaten Francesco Pianeta at the SAP Arena in Mannheim, Germany on May 4. Pianeta (28-0-1, 15 KOs) is rated WBA #12 and WBO #9. He says he learned Wlad's weaknesses when working as a sparring partner for him last year. "I'm going to knock out Klitschko and set the boxing world on its head," Pianeta proclaimed. Klitschko (59-3, 50 KOs) said he respects Pianeta and will prepare himself intensively for the fight.

At the moment Povetkin, Pulev and Haye (yeah, still Haye) are the only guys (not including Vitali for obvious reasons) that are the proper contenders to Wlad's genuine world heavyweight title.

They're not always easy fights to make but Wlad's not even fighting the next ones in line after that. He's picking Jean Marc Mormeck, Tony Thompson, Mariusz Wach and now this geezer. He's picking guys that would take peanuts just for the opportunity. For someone that only fights a couple of times a year it's just bullshit.
