Wlad's Handwraps.

These don't look right, see how they're stacked up over the knuckles?

Years ago Glenn Catley got knocked out by Dingaan Thobela losing his WBC 12st title. After the fight Chris Sanigar noticed long straight welts on Catley's face and forehead. When they watched footage of fight they saw that Thobela's wraps looked suspicious (very much like Wlad's last night). The WBC agreed and retained Catley as No 1 contender.

I seen loads of guys with wraps like that.

Anyway here are the rules:

Hand wraps shall be restricted to no more than twenty (20) yards of soft gauze, not more than two (2) inches wide. The gauze shall be held in place by no more than eight (8) feet of adhesive tape, no more than one and one-half (1 ½) inches wide. The adhesive tape shall not cover any part of the knuckles when the hand is clenched to make a fist. The use of water, or any other liquid or material, on the tape is strictly prohibited.

Hand wraps shall be applied in the dressing room in the presence of a Commission representative and, if requested, one representative of the other boxer.Hand wraps shall be restricted to no more than twenty (20) yards of soft gauze, not more than two (2) inches wide. Not sure about that Chatty, as well as the suspicious stacking over the knuckles there seems to some string or cord separating the fingers, where's that in the rules you quote?
hard to see on a that pic but that could just be marker - doesnt look like thats sticking out anymore than the wrap
Oh I see what you mean now - look at the picture of Hayes wraps above and then imagine it with tape over the top = would be exactly the same - that would be why the knuckles look separated
No it's not Haye is wearing training wraps (the red fabric) under the white bandage.

Its not the trainin g wraps I'm talking about - its the way they are wrapped.
Too hard to tell from just that pic to be honest - youd need more. Never heard anyone complain about them before which you would have expected guys like Booth to pick up on though.
