Curtis Woodhouse, now boxing at lightweight, destroyed 19 year old Budapest fighter Sandor Horvath with a body shot on Friday night at the Ponds Forge Arena in Sheffield, Yorkshire, U.K. Catching the Southpaw half way through the opening round, the 33 year old who made huge headlines with his recent twitter troll hunt, ended the mismatch with ease. The time was just 1 min and 36 seconds. Horvath beat the count but looked dazed. This was a strange one really. Woodhouse is now 18-5 (11). Horvath falls to 9-7(5).
Middleweight Liam Cameron once again had too much for a game and determined Harry Matthews. Repeating a previous points win over the man from the small city of York, Cameron was sharper and more accurate. Matthews was always in the fight and he had his moments, but he was hit flush too many times. The score was 60-56. Cameron is now 14-2 (5). Matthews is now 12-8 -1 (2).
Chad Gaynor scored a smashing 1st round TKO over Poland's Sylvester Walczak. A huge right hand to the head sent the visitor crashing and though Walczak bravely beat the count at 4 he was gone and the ref waved it off. Time was just 71 seconds. Gaynor, a welterweight to watch, is now 12-1 (6). Walczac is now 4-6 -1 (1).
Unbeaten Dominick Ingle-trained light welter Atif Shafiq improved to 4-0 in Sheffield tonight with a 40-36 decision over the very durable Kristian Laight. The talented switch hitter hit his man with everything, working the body especially. But laight took it all. No wonder he has been stopped just four times in his 7-147-6 record. Shafiq is one to watch.
