I'm sure someone will compile the HW results and post them up so we might as well keep the LHW on another thread.

Here's my LHW top 10:

1 Ezzard Charles
2 Archie Moore
3 Gene Tunney
4 Harry Greb
5 Jimmy Bivins
6 Billy Conn
7 Maxie Rosenbloom
8 Roy Jones Jr
9 Bob Foster
10 Michael Spinks

I'm just wondering, why aren't we doing cruiserweight? Is is just going to be the original eight? We can leave out super middleweight, light welterweight, etc. And all those but I think cruiserweight deserves a list.

I dunno, maybe we are?

I just figured it'd been a while since the HW thread so I'd start this one.

10. Matthew Saad Muhammad

Too stacked. I could easily switch 'em. Saad is well underrated for ring record at the weight IMO. Lewis, Conn, Bivins, you could probably make a case for

I think Greb got the better of the first two Tunney fights from what I've read...and in going on pure memory here but weren't the rest of their fights over the limit? Greb has Kid Norfolk as well.

To be honest I love this division so much after the first few it's more 'a list of favourites' as it's so hard to pick here. Jones gets in mainly on attributes and application, as his resume is shocking compared to the rest of these guys and those that didn't make it and everyone knows how much I love Roy, I'm just being honest, even a KO1 over Dariusz wouldn't justify it for me...but he's there.

I realised Bryn asked for a short write up on each of the top ten heavyweights on the main page, I will do that for these top ten light heavies if it's ok with everyone

some great lists here guys.

I think the last Greb - Tunney fight can be considered a HW fight but the rest I'd call LHW fights.

the second fight seems like a controversial decision so I call it a draw. Both are incredibly stacked in terms of top heavy LHW victories so it could go either way, it's just that prime for prime I favour tunney over Greb, maybe foolishly now that I think about it.

Saad is number 22 for me flea.

Langford achieved a lot as a LHW because for a while he was the best on the planet and considered a h2h force. he just didn't beat enough guys at LHW for me. same thing applies to fitzsimmons as well.

This division is so talent laden though, it's ridiculous. Genuinely amazing fighters graced this division.

Can't believe I missed the HW list. Here goes...

1. Ezzard Charles.
(1b. Henry Maske :yep)
2. Harry Greb.
3. Gene Tunney.
4. Archie Moore.
5. Bob Foster.
6. Michael Spinks.
7. Tommy Loughran.
8. Billy Conn.
9. Harold Johnson.
10. Roy Jones Jr.

Struggled with number 10, wasn't sure whether to throw in Langford or Fitz instead but I decided to go with what I know best. My list may be a little off as I develop my approach to not only ranking but studying the older fighters, this will do for now though. Should be interesting to see where it is in a year or two.
