If it was planned better, they could have got Rios vs Van Heerden on the card and used it to build up the summer fight between Brook and Rios. I know Rios purse would be expensive but if it was part of the deal to face brook I'm sure they could come to an agreement along with the box office money. Plus his team could get used to having a camp and fighting in U.K before the big summer showdown.

It would also lead to less confusion so it was clear what the plan was, instead of it looking like Brook chose Gavin over Rios

stuff like that just doesn't happen anymore.

Yeah it's a shame. They could of had it on its own card in sheffield as a double bill.

I really think those kind of things help promote the future fight down the line, especially helping introduce both fighters to each others fans and with interviews after each fight etc.

I just think Boxing popularity has decreased so much in terms of the knowledgable fan. They will just go along with whatever Sky tell them.

Warren did something like that years ago, had Paulie Malignaggi fighting Lovemore NDou on the undercard of Hatton Lazcano. It's not beyond possibility just don't think it's Eddies style. He'd rather bore us with drivel instead.

Hatton left Warren years before that. Card was promoted by Maloney & Hatton Promotions.

If it was planned better, Van Heerden wouldn't still be signed up to fight Frankie Gavin on this card...

Cleverly v Braehmer this card too?
Eddie was hinting at it.Is there enough money in this card to bring him over though?Especially after paying Linares and Gradovich to come over?I have no idea what sort of money Braehmer makes in Germany but he's a Sauerland fighter and more often than not them guys are on big money and don't need to travel.Maybe it will be a "final eliminator"?

This beats the Mag 7, quality card. Would be a bit easier to take it being on PPV if regular sky shows hadn't been shit recently though

Hearn in an IFLTV interview said that one of the available guys for May 30th was Diego Chaves, so wouldn't it have made more sense to fight him?! Much better resume than Gavin. What's done is done i guess.
Chaves is a much better fight. Can understand why Hearn chose Gavin over him though, two Brits is easier to sell. 'These two really don't like each other'

Has Chaves ever beat anybody that good?

I think the hate for Gavin is a bit over the top tbh and for me its an acceptable opponent just two months after his last fight.

Maybe I'd be more bothered if this was the first fight to be announced rather than the last, it looks like this is being billed as the main event though and I'd rather Mitchell gets top billing.
