Dont expect to see the AJ from the Parker ir Povetkin fights, expect to see an aggressive AJ, AJ cant afford to start slow and let Usyk get into a rhythm hes going to have to walk him down, also if AJ is getting schooled I can see him throwing caution to the wind and just going all out for the KO and getting it, AJ is a big guy he will catch Usyk eventually

I don't think his power is insane, but I think a guy who wrecks Povetkin, sparks Whyte and does Johnson in the speed he did is clearly a big puncher. Joyce? Not really no. He wins by accumulation and I've never seen him scramble someone of decent level with one shot.

Fair enough Joyce may be a bit of a stretch, I was more trying to think of accomplished heavyweights with decent power that Usyk has beat as an amateur and Joyce came to mind. Still he's a big lump and he can bang a bit, plus Usyk has beaten him twice.

As I said earlier, Medzhidov is as big a puncher as Joshua and was notorious for knocking out good heavyweights over 3 rounds for years. He is one of the biggest punchers in the amateurs in recent years and Usyk beat him over 5 rounds in a bit of a firefight. Usyk can take the power imo, my only fear that is that he might get pressured and worn down by he much heavier Joshua over time. Joshuas solid basics, combined with a huge height and reach advantage will also prove to be bothersome.

The thing I’m not convinced with on Joshua is that I’ve only ever seen him use Plan A.

Normally plan A has worked well for him, but tellingly on the few occasions Plan A hasn’t worked that well, he only seems to be able to bite down and try Plan A again, but with more effort.

Which is fair enough, but I can’t see doing the same against Usyk working? Think it’d just get him countered more.

This fight is all about the intangibles, as based purely on boxing skill AJ shouldn’t be holding Uysk’s bucket.

I’d lean towards Usyk making him look pretty basic, but having to come through some genuine tough spots, in a fight that ends up being close due to a few big Joshua moments.

Agree in principal. But how many guys have we seen come up into the heavyweight division and fall short of expectations? They say speed kills. But size kills too.

Seems like if Ruiz announced hes rematching Joshua they will strip him of the WBO and make Fury vs Schwarz for it
