Why is the most exciting prospect on the Planet being forced into this waste of time joke of a fight? This Hector guy isn't even fit to work as a Wetherspoons doorman. Pathetic.

Wow he been stopped 2 times since losing to Chisora and each time earlier than vs Chisora. Chisora was in awful condition for that fight and he originally wanted to fight Pala for his comeback he might have even lost it had Pala not injured himself

Imagine the shock if he got sparked out.

Lennox Lewis, Wladamir Klitschko, Alexander Povetkin. Olympic Gold Medalists and World Champion fighters that had 5 fights in 5 months when they turned pro like Joshua. The opponents combined record of their first 5 fights were the following;

Lewis - 54 Wins 81 Losses 9 Draws
Klitschko - 36 Wins 46 Losses 5 Draws
Povetkin - 35 Wins 31 Losses 3 Draws
Joshua - 56 Wins 14 Losses 1 Draw

Thanks for highlighting Joshua

Interesting stats there actually.

Thanks.

I still think he can be progressed faster than fast eddie thinks

As much as I commend your research and it's a persuasive argument for Joshua being matched well,I can't help feeling 'lies, damned lies and statistics' comes to mind.

A fighters record isn't what counts,it's much more important how good they are.the Italian on his debut for example had a padded record plus Dorian Darch has never beat anyone with a respectable wining record.as for Paul butlin his last 20 fights include 16 losses.

But criticism of his first 5 fights is unwarranted,he is feeling his way around the professional ranks and I expect him to increase his standard of opposition in 2015.

Well on the evidence of his matchmaking he think AJ needs feeding cans. The guy himself thinks he can be moved on faster than eddie.
No. This is just you match Heavyweight! Lewis, Potetkin & Klitschko did not step up until they were well into double figures and close to 2 years as pros.

ironically Joshua's worst opponent was the one with the unbeaten record from Italy, he looked like a total novice. But as you said criticism of his first 5 fights is unwarranted as its early days.

I wasnt really saying he had been matched well. Just that he isnt being matched badly.

When boxers take control of their own "destinies" especially HW boxers they are susceptible to the Audley Harrison route...

No I agree his matchmaking is ok,as long as they aren't total bums or debutants then it's fine for now.

As for the names mentioned in your post.alexander povetkins cv is actually very good for a heavyweight in this era.he was matched well from the off,as was another good amateur kubrat pulev.but they were older when turning pro, weren't they?
