A lot of varying answers.

Would he be a good opponent for Hughie Fury or Joshua?
Both beat him mate, Joshua quicker than Fury but both still win. It may seem like I've got an agenda against Gary Cornish, I don't, I just don't see him beating Browne Fury or Joshua, I don't see him even making it to round 5 against 2 of them. Hopefully though Cornish will seek active fights, the last thing we need is another Lee McAllister, staying up in the highlands beating up Latvian journeyman making out like he's a world beater.

I think most people have summed up why he is not really relevant, Hes still a novice skill wise and he hasnt beat anybody of note.

As long as he not being billed as a world beater I dont have a problem with his level of opponent right now. He needs a slow build as he had very little amateur experience. In the next 2 or 3 fights he should step it up to area/english title level, to continue his development. He might get beat at this level but he'll learn more from a defeat than fighting journeymen constantly.

People are being overly harsh as Cornish is just a pro novice who had very little amateur experience.

His opponents have been carefully picked but that doenst mean he won't be a good domestic heavy,he stopped Paul butlin not long ago and that is an indication of the level he is currently at,fringe top 10 British.

Frank warren has him on his shows now and he is getting good sparring, including a stint with wladimir klitschko.he fought last week in a keep busy bout as Gilmour thinks that he will be one of the names put forward by the board for a British title eliminator.

As said by mandana,he is very relaxed and loose for a heavy,he has a different style to tom Dallas so comparisons are unfair,I've seen him dropped by a crude slugger but he got up without panicking and duly stepped up and finished his opponent.

Give him a chance,at least he is in the top 10 British heavys and that is good going for such a novice.

I wouldnt class him as a top 10 heavy.

Right,I'm not sure why.

He is ranked 11th by boxrec who have Joshua and Hughie above him,If you can find a heavy below him that is more deserving or you would fancy to beat him then I would be suprised.

Last time I checked, 11 came after 10 mate.
Oh I see,you felt the need to mention that you didn't rate him top 10 but have no objection to 11.

The top 10 also features Martin rogan who I think is all but done once his NZ trip is over, and Richard towers who is less convincing than Cornish to be honest.towers like Dallas is stiff and uncomfortable in the ring,Cornish can actually box and I would fancy him to beat towers.

Towers is awful,Cornish has potential.

Anyway time will tell rob, just out of interest though, how many Cornish fights have you seen?

Board circular puts forward Sam sexton v Gary Cornish as a British title eliminator.
