Chris Algieri has only had 20 boxing bouts in his entire career. Being a Champion wasn't enough.

Algieri's trainer Keith Trimble talks about Algieri's mental toughness and transition from kickboxing to boxing.

Chris talks about his injuries and versatility hes faced in kickboxing

I was most impressed by his work-rate and jab. I was telling everyone prior to the Provodnikov fight that he has some awesome stamina. He throws triple jabs like nothing.

I would've been happier if he fought and beat Danny Garcia prior to facing Pacquiao. I really think he would've beaten Garcia, and he would've came into the Pacquiao fight with more credentials. Too bad Pacquiao didn't have any notable opponents in the Top Rank stable.

Any thoughts on the fact that Algieri pitched a near shut out vs the tough Emmanuel Taylor, who made a good showing of himself last night vs Broner?
Well Algieri used his footwork to avoid getting in any kind of exchanges against Taylor. Stylistically it was an easier fight for Algieri. I think Taylor also looked better & seemed to have a better gameplan against Broner.

I think Algieri has the mentallity to win and he's a good boxer and tall I'm just not sure he's enough to beat Pacquiao even at this stage. But if Algieri wins Arum will give himself the bullet if Algieri who's supposed to be a win for Pacquiao is the guy to beat him probably once and for all Arum will have a mental breakdown

Algieri is a good fighter may not have the experience to beat Pacquiao.

Only been stopped once as far as I can tell in boxing or kickboxing was stopped in a kickboxing fight on youtube, but he has improved a lot since then.

lol, Ortiz quit..before and after Mayweather Jr.
we know. at least he was coming off of a big, exciting win against Berto & grabbed the WBC belt. he was actually pretty marketable after the berto fight.

Algieri has never even fought at welterweight before so how is that considered a good opponent for packy? maybe packy should consider fighting a real welterweight instead

im not hyping up ortiz. im saying, ortiz earned the fight against floyd by beating undefeated berto. Algieri beat Provodnikov in a non welterweight bout.

I consider him to be a junior welterweight version of Andy Lee.
not quite. Lee can actually knock people out.
