yeah true but that situation is even worse right now in boxing.
So much in boxing is messed up. But yeah, you are right. IMO, exclusive contracts with networks is a major part of the problem as well. There's no actual market value of fighter w/o competition. Haymon can essentially pay his guys any amount to fight lower level fighters if he chooses (And has to an extent). same thing happened with TR and DKP back in the day. Got a lot of crap fights biult on a card w/ one decent bout. Hell, TR almost ruined Tuesday/Friday night fights, IIRC. (Might have been a fox network though).

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I don't give a damn if fighters are getting paid well if the other fighter is a gimme.
 
My natural instincts make me wary of monopolies, but there is no doubt the UFC model on the whole is much, much better than the current state of boxing.

The other thing I wonder about the PBC is if they emerge as a copy of the UFC, I presume they will start running PPV events.

Right now people are excited about the PBC because it is on Free to Air TV, but if that changes, I wonder then how people will feel about it.
