Hey Bama, haven't seen that quote before, thanks for sharing

Shame he won't get by Povektin to be able to unify though!
I can't wait for the fight, I'm guessing it will be the same as the Stiverne fight though, then people will say Povetkin was shot and a nobody and Wilder won't fight Fury.

Stiverne was a borderline top 10 heavy when he was champ, he has always been a nobody, and has done nothing since to elevate himself above that position

Povetkin on the other hand is clearly number 3 in the division behind Fury and Wlad based on resume and performances, that isn't a disputable fact at this stage

LIke I said, can't wait for the fight to hear the excuses about why it doesn't matter when Deontay wins. :)

I think Povetkin is a harder fight for Wilder than Fury.
Povetkin is a harder fight for Fury than Wilder as well.
That said I think Wilder has a very good shot against Povetkin 60/40 Wilder's favor IMHO.
Where as I think Povetkin would be favored 80/20 over Fury.

Also I think Povetkin would beat Fury

I am not sure Fury can emulate Wlad enough to overcome him and he won't beat him any other way. As dull as Wlad is, his technique and style is still very sound
Throwing a jab and feinting to clench and jumping on someone's back don't seem like technique to me. I will say as a style it works for you though, so long as you don't have someone your size or bigger.

Ugly as sin but he was the 2nd most dominant boxer after Mayweather these last 10 years. The technique behind his style was exceptional

p.s. 11-1, can't see you stopping me this year in the NFL fantasy league

Yeah dominant but his lack of skill and hyper reliance on his size, plus having a shit division and losing to Fury in the manner he did is eating that legacy up. Plus when you send your brother to take out guys you think you might not beat...

You are 11-1 really?
How'd you get that 1.
:)

Fury largely won that fight because Wlad refused to throw punches at distance. Not taking anything away from Fury, he filled more down time than Wlad did.

Wilder won't just languish on the outside. He'll throw. They might not get through, but we've often seen the more active fighter carry rounds, particularly when little actual damage is done to either man.

This would be a fun fight. And, if they did it in Vegas or Madison Square Garden, Fury has the type of love him or hate him personality that would sell the fight.

The build up and the fight would be the excitement this HW division needs :good

Which is why I'd put in Madison Square Garden. Let's face it, ESPN only covers teams and events in the northeast, then you have NBC headquartered right down the street. Gets plenty of US publicity, can air at a reasonable hour for the UK viewers while still hitting prime time in much of the US.
