Boxing is better than the UFC/MMA. The only people who think otherwise don't watch boxing and are casually UFC fans because UFC is the "cool" thing to watch with their ffliction shirts on. UFC had a great run but now it had been bought out and is completely commercial while boxing has the best fighting the best and in spite of human cum dumpsters like Steven A Smith, Shannon Sharpe and Teddy Atlas being "shock jock" sports personalities who just try to say something to go viral, the facts speak for themselves.
Manny Pacquiao fought on ESPN on Saturday night vs a complete nobodyvand drew in 4.4 million viewers!!! And in spite of Teddy Atlas trying to makevtge entire event about him and drying that the fight was a robberry( how was he watching the fight and judging it while screaming for 36 minutes straight) and then Steven A Smith who didn't even know the names of former world champions on Horn's, he thought his opinion mattered enough to repeat everything Atlas said and ev3n went so far as to say "this is why UFC is better" as if there has never bee a bad decision in the UFC or MMA.
Teddy Atlas and Steven A Smith Disrespected the sport if boxing and ruined a historical night and the start a huge fights being brought to ESPN and I hope I never have to hear either of them discuss boxing again.
On August 5th, Vasyl l Lomachenchko (regarded as the most talented and skilled fighter in the world and maybe ever, only challenging Roy Jones JR is freaknes ) will be fighting two time title challenger Miguel Marriaga (who just had a fight of the candidate vs undefeated 126 pound champion Oscar Valdez) for Loma's 130 WBO title and I doubt S.A.S even knows who Marriaga is. And then on August 16th, undefeated Terrence Crawford who might be the best P4P who might be the best P4P fighter in the world, will put the WBC and WBO titles on the line vs undefeated IBF and WBA champion Julius Indongo and both will look to be only the 2nd fight in history to unify all 4 major world titles since Bernard Hopkins did it vs Oscr De La Hoya over 10 years ago.
And that's not nothing about the dozens of great fighs that took place in the last 2 years. And let's ignore fights like Woodley vs Thompson 2 that made Mayweather vs Pacquiao look like Ali vs Frazier, which took place on the same night undeafeated WBC champ Danny Garcia unified vs undefeated Keith Thurman on NBC. So whie history was made on free tv in boxing, the biggest cry baby in the UFC had one of the worst fights every(in any conpact sport) that you had to pay $60 dollars. And all it did was give Woodley the chance to cry so more and pull the race card because he thinks he should be the highest paid fighter in UFC based off of just barely no losing his two title fights. Wow, how awesome is UFC. Or when Holly Holm headlined a PPV vs de Ramandine and the main event and the whole card sucked.... then a week later Showtime have an exciting Triple Headerheadlined by Adrien Broner vs Adrian Grandos is a razor thin ,exciting fight that was worth every dollar that your Showtime subscription cost, whike undefeated Staten Island Light Heavyweight Prospect knocked out former world title challenger Thomas Williams Jr in 6 rounds. And in another title fight Lamont Peterson won entertaining decision. I guess this is what Shannon Sharpe meant when he said "People are leaving boxing" or when Smith said "UFC is better". Funny how "boxing is dead had been said for over 15 years now and it bigger than is been since the 80s..... but Sharoe and Smith just flap their gums trying to make their video go viral without even checking facts or doin any research.
And if UFC is soooooo great, why is it's biggest start (McGregor) leaving the sport and coming to boxing to fight a retired fighter instead if staying in his own sport and fighting Kabib or Woodley or rematch Diaz again? Isnt this the same side show nonsense Steven A Smith said is wrong with boxing? McGregor would rather get knocked out by a retired Floyd Mayweather t han fight the best fighters in his own. What a joke he is and what a joke the UFC is for letting it happen. This is a man in the prime of his career who willing to lose just for a payday. That use to be called taking a dive. And now Dana White who, Steven A spoke so highly of while he was disrespecting boxing during the Pacquiao boxing telecast, that same Dana White is forcing his employees like Holly Holm and Matt Seirra to say that McGregor actually has a chance to beat Floyd. Serra already said Conor has no chance and now he's saying he does.... did he have a chance of heart or is Dana White not allowing his fightings to fpgive their honest opinion? Seems very shapy from such a too nitch organization that never has bad fights or bad decision and doesnt have the "same problems boxing has". UFC has jumped the shark since selling out to the billionaire supergroup they sold there rights to and now they need to put on freak show fights like this o complete with just has the best fighting the best and most times on free tv, ESPN, NBC, CBS, Fox etc. And McGregor already retired once from fighting and that's all this fight is, his retirement. So do expect to we McGregor in the cage again after Floyd embarrasses him. And no, UFC can't make him fight because he is under contract. All that contract is, is the rights to McGregor's fights IF he fights, they can't make him fight. So how great is the UFC gonna do after Rousey got exposed as just a pretty face with no fighting skills and McGregor is going to get pummeled in a boxing ring a retired. Hope Jon Jones stopped loving cocaine and PEDs?
Boxing has been around for over 100 years and is full of life. Great fighters willing to make great fights and tons of networks winning to show those fights. If you aren't a boxing fan, I pity you. It's one of the greatest sports in the world and I'm an MMA fan but boxing at the moment is the king of compact sports.
