Boxing is so fucking stupid at times!

Whole situation pretty much already summed up in the thread. He likes the idea of being this top level professional boxer but dislikes the idea of proving it by actually, er...boxing?

It's a fairly common mindset, the fear of failure stops you trying for something.

I met him once at a BN York hall show (think it was our dearly missed Ovil) and he had obviously taken a huge amount of stick all night. Being pissed I was only too happy to tell him he was being a dick and should just shut up and prove himself in the ring. He was rather meek and his reply was very much a "yeah I know, I've heard that about 1000 times tonight!".

That's the thing with boxing fans, for all the casuals sucked in and mugged off by the likes of the Sky hype machine, there are still plenty of educated, true fans who don't give a fuck about you until you've actually shown them something.

I remember him telling me about this exact conversation only he told me he told you to "shut the fuck up you pub grub guy."

I was at his last fight on U.K. soil before he hit the big time in Hungary. It was in Harrow just up the road from where he lives and he still couldn’t shift any tickets so was boxed first. Didn’t stop him strutting around like Prince Charles Martin during his IBF reign of Godliness.

IFL were desperate to push this guy one point, Kugan kept tweeting out links to that infamous interview he did and randomly bringing him up when interviewing other people. Hearn rightly swerved him and Warren lost interest very quickly as well (especially after he made a complete cunt on himself on Bunce's Boxing Hour) because both realised he wouldn't go very far.

He's a great talker, a 1000× better than the likes of Ohara Davies. Just a shame he's so shit as a fighter, not even Area-level.
