I did a thread last week titled Arum and Koncz robbing Manny blind. They are commiting fraud against him and he isn't earning what they say he does and these advances are just a way to screw him. Vision Quest had him saved bc they were about to uncover everything.

First Jmm taxed that azz now the IRS :-(
fucked up but funny

floyd at least isnt scared to make moves and speak up. Manny seems passive like hes really afraid of that old man.
yep never understood how people saw his passivity as admirable even going as far as defending it

So foul. I bet Manny was thinking his business was handled by Rot Stank. I hope Manny jumps ship and gets his mind right. Get over to GBP and get that big payday against FMJ. Win or lose, I want Manny to have a good life after laying it on the line for so long. I would hate to see Manny getting sparked by nobodies like so many other former greats ended up.

Oh Pactards, be careful what you wish up on others...

You know what... I take this back. Pac ain't the victim here. I would feel sorry for him if I hadn't researched the dude during the ESB Wars. Pac has a trail of shady business and political dealings all throughout his life. From unclaimed kids to political assassination. Pac probably had that fight in Macau because he knew this was coming.

The dude had an audit and after the auditors found inconsistencies he fired them and went right back. Hate for a Boxer to go through this, but Pac had tons of chances to fix this and shaded the very people who tried to help him.

Oh Pactards...

Wait a minute, didn't Arum say Top RAnk takes 30% off the top of his purse to pay taxes?
If that's in Pac's contract, then he'd have to sue Arum (and good luck with that) to get his money.

Problem with this scenario:

1: Old Beelzebob probably had the contract worded in such a way that it didn't actually say this, legally. (or if you read it too closely, it suddenly bursts into flames)

2: Even if it did, fighting Arum in court would take years, and exhaust whatever funds Manny still has left.

3: Even if somehow, some way, Manny eventually were to get this money from Arum, he'd still owe massive interest & penalties to the IRS, which by then would probably be as much as the current bill.

I work in the music business, which is just as smelly and disgusting as the boxing business. Believe me, unless you have a great lawyer, tons of cash, and lots of time, even a GOOD contract is worthless, unless the other guy actually wants to honor it.

I think Manny's best course of action might be to get in touch with a US federal prosecutor, and have a long talk about Bob Arum. With some luck, he might find someone who badly wants to clean up boxing. (Many years ago, they went after Don King pretty hard, but that snake managed to slither away unscathed.)

In that case, the prosecutor might get the IRS to give Many time, or a special exemption or something, in return for his help & testimony against Arum & company.
It's been done before.

I don't have a clue what he can do in the Phillipines, though I suspect that that whole debacle is probably being orchestrated by his political rivals, the way California governor Gray Davis was (illegally) recalled from office and replaced with Republican puppet Ah-nold Shwarzenager.

- butI digress ......
