Similarities in Style between GGG and Joe Louis

Just watching GGG-Stevens and Lederman, in a rare moment of clarity, said GG was an accurate, come forward, punching machine. This got me thinking about Joe Louis and I see some similiarites between he and Joe Louis. GGG has a ramrod jab that he uses to push his opponents back and open up their guard. He doesn't move a lot but maintains fantastic balance as he inevitably and patiently moves forward. He doesn't look for the knockout but allows it to happen. However, when his opponent is hurt, he goes for blood. Every single punch, even that jab, is designed for power but thanks to his amateur career, maintains tremendous technique.

Sounds like Louis to me...

But someone I think is similar to Louis or at least as similar as it gets today is Carl Froch they have a very similar stance both use their right hand mostly to block jabs, fight very side on out of some kind of crouch and defend right hands mostly by diping a little bit at their waist and with their left shoulder Froch really reminds me of Louis

Froch? Might as well say Povetkin.

One thing with Golovin though, from what I can tell, is that his hands aren't exactly blisteringly quick. It's been adequate up until now, but I wonder if he ever had to face a real slick mover in there, if this would not be his undoing?

Don't get me wrong, I too think he's fantastic, but one or two little signs that I'm picking up on suggest to me that he still has some things to work on.
You can't really work on your handspeed though, and Golovkin has the timing, shot placement, shot variety and lack of telegraphy that can make up for a little of that top rank speed. His jab is also a phenomenal weapon to open up opponents to his power shots. I agree that he may be made to look foolish at stretches in future fights, but so long as he maintains his composure and boxes behind the jab, he should have what it takes to nail anybody.
