And its a really good lineup, much better than previous editions from other weights.

Healey and McFarlane just look like cannon fodder for the first round tbh.

Bennett is 6'5" and plodding, why doesn't he just box behind the jab? It's madness. How the fuck has he let Sandland back into this?

This is white collar dross, even if they are both leaving everything in there. We have a strong crop of heavyweights in the UK but wow, there's a serious drop in quality once you drop below the fighters signed to the major promoters. Rewind a few years and the likes of Sexton, McDermott and Rogan would have destroyed this lot.

UB is just too low budget and its backers too obscure to attract anyone decent. I think the penny is going to drop for it soon.

Having said that, these were eight sensible picks on paper once you drop below the HWs signed to major promoters. Webb is at best on the same level as Tom Little. The others all pub fighters with the exception of Palata who inexplicably didn't look interested. They'd have had to have gone international to make this half decent. I think they'll have to go down that route soon to keep this interesting.

I think they were unfortunate that the fights didn't generally deliver in terms of entertainment. It looked good on paper.

But I'm not sure UB will last much longer. At least not in its current state. The novelty of boxing tournaments like this seems to have worn off for most, and last night's show didn't seem to attract much interest despite being in the heavyweight division.
