I was at the Maidana fight in 2009 and the whole fight he took some of the hardest sounding shots I've ever heard (the round before he got stopped especially) i think Maidana gave him some serious long term brain damage.

 

Fuck something is wrong there. Whatever screw he had loose may have fallen completely out. We all eventually discovered that Ortiz used his "positive vibe" shtick to hide insecurities, but it seems he doesn't seem to understand what's believable or appropriate anymore. That whole act was a cringeworthy attempt at acting big and seeming suave. Painful to watch. Drugs would make perfect sense, lots of addicts say they forget how to act around people.
