Yep,hes as much chance as any. I thought Callum looked good last night,as usual. He doesn't have the advantage of Joshs amateur achievements. I know its off topic, but I was quite amused by Joe Gallagher jumping in when they asked Callum about Rocky. As though to say Im the man steering this ship. You could fair sense Eddie having been stopped in his tracks.
Gallagher was embarrassing last night.he is a good trainer but it's a concern he has such a big input into the direction of so many of matchrooms stable.
He never wanted Anthony crolla to fight John Murray, and stopped Stephen smith getting the rematch he wanted against lee selby.
I said last night that as it stands I think Callum- fielding is 50/ 50 and got mocked but I think it is.
Smith of course appears to have the higher ceiling, great combinations, plenty of pop, works so varied, his footwork is fantastic and underrated and he is a relative novice, but rocky fielding is a bit of a sleeper in my opinion, last night he did very well,Gonzalez was a real live body and if the fight between the 2 can't be made again then get him back for Callum.
Fielding has an excellent trainer, for me one of the best we have, rocky has a fast boxing brain.the 2 would come up with a gameplan to try to avoid sitting on the ropes for long periods like all smiths opponents to date have done, what's important here is smith wouldn't have a big reach advantage like normal and so wouldn't find it so easy to push Rocky back.fielding showed a good chin last night, his own power and as he has before that he is a good counter puncher.
I rate them both and think its a hell of a fight.
Of course Callum is great to watch, but I wouldn't be too suprised to see rocky go to the next level as well, he really does impress me.
