Closest I got was being at the Ward/Rodriguez fight when Tyson was announced in the crowd. Even that was pretty cool.

My buddy ran into him and his body guards in store in the Phoenix area (Macy's, I think). He said it was both really cool and slightly uneasy.

I met Ali at Joe Frazier's gym when I was 7. He was walking through the crowd, stopped when he saw me and started slap boxing with me. When I went up to the table a little while later to get his autograph, he started slap boxing with me again. I will never forget that day.

I met Mike twice. - Neither time related to boxing!

Once at his home, where my production team went to discuss details for a rap tune we were interested in making about / with him. ("Boom boom, out go the Lights." - it never happened.) He was in a really bad mood that day, & we barely spoke. Someone told me later that he just didn't like white guys, (the rest of the team were black & hispanic) but of course that really doesn't make any sense.
Still, he seemed angry about something. Well, that was around the time of his divorce, so.....

Second time was at his sister's business in Brooklyn, "Iron Mike Productions." It was actually a sort of modeling agency / clothing design conglomerate, funded by Mike of course. FWIW, his sister was the coolest lady I ever met. Big & strong just like her brother, and REALLY tough on people that didn't have their shit together or were full of BS. - But a sweetheart to those around her. She & I got along great. Sadly, she passed away quite a few years ago.

Anyway, Mike was real nice to me that day, though again we only had a brief conversation. (About his nephew, who was also trying to be a rapper. And yes, I make my living in the music business.)

I wish I could say that I actually hung out with him, but that never happened. I never even got to talk boxing with him!

Never met either guy, unfortunately. I've seen many boxers, but the most famous one I've met is Arron Pryor. I actually used to go to a gym he frequented in Cincinnati. Had quite a few one on one talks with him, and even got to shadow spar a bit with him. Strange guy, tbh.

Neither unfortunately. It would be a dream to meet Ali but I think that's asking way too much these days.

From many accounts it seems Ali went out of his way and gave fans a unique impression, it wasn't so methodical and straight forward like other celebrity meets.

I met Tyson once… well, met is an exaggeration. He was at the Comicon at Earl's Court a couple of years back, and passed about ten metres in front of me on his way to a photo booth. All the nerds (me included) went crazy.

Oh man, I had an unfortunate near miss last year. I had tickets to see Tyson in New York performing his Undisputed Truth show. Earlier that day I'd been to see the Nets play and had semi arranged to see a girl I'd met that day. When she asked where I'd be drinking I told her "Jimmy's corner"

Anyway, after seeing the show in upper Manhattan, my friend and I were shattered. We'd been on our feet all day. We decided to skip Jimmy's Corner until the following day.

Next evening, we're drinking in the bar bantering with Jimmy's lovely wife.
"Mike called in here last night" she told me as my face dropped.
"He wanted to say hello to Jimmy on the way home from his show performance".

For fucks sake.....

I worked the corner for Bugner during the Ali fight. Joe didn't know, I just climbed up onto the ring apron with a tub of vaseline after the fourth round. Joe didn't really notice until I started using my shoe as an endswell, and the heel caught him in the eye. Ended up getting thrown out at that point, I'm pissed off because Joe's still got my shoe.. but that's the closest I ever got to Ali.

Well considering some of his aquantencies over the years id say the Tyson doesn't like white people is utter bullshit.

In what way was he strange?
He just had weird way about him. Maybe it was the past drug use, or (sorry to say) a bit punchy, but he just acts kind of weird.
