Following the success of the Welterweights tournament, AI Promotions are proud to continue the format with a Featherweights tournament:
The Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia-Oceania will each stage a qualifying tournament made up of two groups of three fighters.
The fighters in each group will fight on a round-robin basis with the winner of each group in all 4 continents making it to the
knock out stages. During the group stage, 3 points will be awarded for a win, and 1 point each for a draw.
Scoring a knockout will earn an additional 2 pts, and scoring a knockout in the first half of the fight will earn a further 1 pt.
Group stage fights will be over 10 rounds. All fights in the knockout stages will be over 12 rounds.
The purses of the fights will be fixed by AI Promotions, with additional prize money going to the promoter of each fighter as they win.
Prize money will be as follows:
1) Winning a group stage fight - 25000
2) Finishing top of the group - 50000
3) Winning a Quarter Final fight - 100000
4) Winning a Semi Final fight - 250000
5) Winning the tournament - 500000
All fights will take place on AI shows in neutral venues, and will be televised.
Prospective participants of this tournament must meet the following requirements at the time of application:
No fight scheduled after 01 December 2017
Contract End Date: After December 2018
Minimum Class: 200
Maximum Class: 750
Title Position: none - participants must relinquish any title position they hold as they will not be able to fulfill mandatories.
However, AI promotions has had agreement from the sanctioning bodies that impacted fighters will not be excluded from the rankings once their participation in the tournament is over.
Note that once a fighter has been entered into the tournament, later withdrawal will result in the promoter losing 25% of their reputation.
To enter your fighter into the tournament, drop a post in this thread with your promotername, the fighters name, country, class and record.
The participants of the tournament will be announced around game date 1/2 November (7th May ish)
