I admittedly don't really follow the division, but curious to hear any opinions from critics since talks of P4P #1 seems like quite a claim. Is this is a case of boxing hipsterism or is he and his opponents really been that good?

I've seen a few of his fights and while he looks like a pretty good fighter, I can't say his opponents looked too spectacular in terms of skill set, etc. (though maybe it could be argued that he made them look that way). Would anyone actually rank any of his opponents in the top 10 P4P list?

Juan Francisco Estrada is definitely top 10 p4p material. I personally have at number 8. Roman has faced plenty of good opponents and he completely destroys them and makes them look like they don't belong in the ring with him.

Ye he's beat some good names already, Estrada being the best and a p4per himself. Beating Viloria is another good name to add

Yep.

Estrada, Niida, Rodriguez, Takayama, & Yaegashi were all serious opponents. For some reason, there doesn't seem to be as many really small fighters with undefeated records. Maybe because there's less of them &mthey have no choice but to fight each other?

I dunno much about Viloria, though you gotta' love his nickname !

Could also throw in Edgar Sosa, Eriberto Gejon, Vargas, Salado and Rocky Fuentes who are all pretty solid wins as well.

Viloria was a top 10 p4p guy a few years ago...

Why would beating brian viloria cement him at number 1 p4p ?
Look at the list of contenders for the title.

Klitschko is fighting Fury, Kovalev fought Mohammedi, Rigondeaux's last fight was Amagasi, and Ward fought Smith. Out of the possible contenders, I say Gonzalez is fighting the best fighter out of that list. Just by going by the most recent competition (as in 1 fight), Roman Gonzalez wins this. Not only am I saying Gonzalez deserves the title, but him beating Viloria compared to the rest of possible candidates furthers this position.

Oh, I'm also not saying Gonzalez should get in only because he's fighting Viloria. I should've worded it "would further cement."
