How would Marciano beat Fury? Same size? Marciano could knock out Fury in a few rounds, but Fury at his size is just not a fair fight. I think he wins by TKO late when Marciano is just worn out fighting this huge guy.

Size isn't everything

but when you factor in the skill fury has, I don't see marciano having much if any chance in this one.

I remember before the fury fight there were people saying Fury was no more skilled than wach lol ffs

funny how they still havent learned

Fury can't fight a lick. He is at best an amateur having never learned boxing basics. Rocky was an animal and an ATG. He chases the very inept Fury out of the ring.
We get it! You're looking through rose tinted spectacles and you know fuck all.

You're the type of poster that give the historical forum a bad name.

Marciano is too small. Fury has proven he is worldclass and he is huge. he isn't just some big guy he's world class against other big guys and unlike someone like Wlad he isn't defenseless on the inside (aside from clinching) and even on the inise he would at least be competitive and with his roughing up like in the Cunningham fight and using his size he might beat Marciano on the inside after triing him out for a few rounds.

Marciano is terribly underrated by some pseudo hardcore fans (those who aren't casuals but not really hardcore fans either). he was a really good technician and even in his era was always the much smaller man.

He would be a monster at CW today and maybebeat some smaller HWs or even shitty SHWs.

That's obviously using the best Marciano we saw not "what would Marciano be like out of a time machien with modern training, PEDs etc" as that's something we wont know

This is just one of those fights where the size disparity has grown too large to really make it a fair fight.

Fury is a foot taller, has nearly a 20 inch reach advantage and weighs 70lbs heavier.

I like Rocky and think he gets underrated by some (overrated by others though) but Fury could likely just stick a jab in his face for the duration and Rocky wouldn't get near him - nor should he be expected to. Sometimes size doesn't matter but theirs an extent to that and this one is way beyond it that it isn't really a fair fight.

Not to say a smaller guy couldn't beat Fury, I think Tyson would massacre him but they have completely different skill-sets.

First solid punch by Rocky on Furys chin and all you would hear is China cracking. Rocky would have no problem reaching that chin. A larger opponent never bothered Rocky. His ultra low crouch made being taller a disadvantage.

@Roe keep your eye on this poster please. Pure troll.

Marciano himself stated he never had much trouble with larger foes. The reason was his low crouch negated the height difference. Opponents had to bend low to reach Marciano then putting them within reach of his KO punches. In today world where fans do not understand boxing fundamentals they are overly impressed by SIZE but completely overlook ABILITY. It's the WWF mentality. Put gloves on someone 7 foot tall and the ignorant thinks he beats Joe Louis. (In this case Marciano). Lots to boxing the least of which is SIZE. If you know the sport 5 minutes watching Fury you should be able to see he is a rank amateur. If you don't see it...find another sport to follow!

Where are all the 5'10 t-rex armed slow poke heavyweight champs in Marciano's mold then?
185 lbs men can't compete with good much bigger men.

If baby t-rex boy Rocky had been born today he would have been ridiculed for wanting to compete at heavyweight and his boxing gym people would have probably convinced him to go to middleweight and not fight Ward.
That's how Golovkin got born. But Golly is a bit more skilled so maybe a little unfair.

Sub 190 lbs men would just get shoved around in the modern division.
Nigh-impossible to deal with super heavies if they can get away with even a little fouling.
