Usyk was Hearn's back up plan in case he needs to regain control of the heavyweight division. It's a great move by Hearn. He can waste Usyk's time while pretending to be his friend, and then if Joshua gets fucked up he has someone who can get the titles back under his control.
If AJ had lost to Ruiz you can bet Hearn would be pushing like fuck to get Usyk a fight at a world title. He'd be at it every fucking day on IFL 'look koogs, hes undisputed cruiserweight champion, only 15 fights, hes won everything, hes the best heavyweight in the WORLD'. Instead we hear shite about how 'well the IBF historically takes priority' and how Joshua needs to fight Pulev, while Usyk will fight a time waster.
But I hope I'm wrong and Usyk will tell him to fuck off and demand the fight.
Usyk is already in decline IMO, 2020 is absolutely his last year in his peak
He's had close to 400 fights and probably sparred 500+ rounds a year, every year for the past 15 years. Another fight vs a Chisora or that other guy he just fought is just an unnecessary risk and total time waste
