One could say say the same abiut Lima in thecTeo fight, yes?Come on, his defense couldn't be called good in anyone's book. Watch his head getting snapped back in that 40 second Twitter clip leading up to the knockout. It looked like there was no defense at all, Leo's punches couldn't hurt him so he decided to take them with his face to give himself a chance to land his knockout punch. If that was good defense for Tank then he's getting his ass kicked the first time he meets a natural 130 pound fighter who can punch. I think his defense is/can be a lot better than that.
He's not gonna be a defensive wizard, but he saw what was going on. He started walking through punches and taking chances at the end wjen it got into a firefight. We'll see if he improves in his next fight.Read again. I said defensively lazy-ish i.e. defensively not super disciplined and nonchalant. It's just an observation and if anything a compliment to him because he has the talent and skill to get hit less. It's hard not to be a fan of Gervonta IMO, but that doesn't mean one can't have a critical opinion of him.
No, not at all. I'm still waiting to see these mysterious punches Teo allegedly landed. Besides, stay on track.. we're talking about Davis getting his head snapped back all night and you calling it good defense. One could say say the same abiut Lima in thecTeo fight, yes?
When you consider how far Davis has come, it's good. He wasn't getting his head snapped back all nighr. No, not at all. I'm still waiting to see these mysterious punches Teo allegedly landed. Besides, stay on track.. we're talking about Davis getting his head snapped back all night and you calling it good defense.
LSC landed 29% of his poweshots, compared to 55% for Davis. If I were Davis or his camp,)I am happy with that. No, not at all. I'm still waiting to see these mysterious punches Teo allegedly landed. I don't pay any attention to compubox.LSC landed 29% of his poweshots, compared to 55% for Davis. If I were Davis or his camp,)I am happy with that.
Nobody pays any attention to you either.I don't pay any attention to compubox.
Exactly. He's not gonna be a defensive wizard, but he saw what was going on. He started walking through punches and taking chances at the end wjen it got into a firefight. We'll see if he improves in his next fight.
The only thing you listen to is Loma unzipping his fly.I don't pay any attention to compubox.
LSC just didn't have the muscle to compete with Tank. He'd have the same jssues with Berchelt. He could still compete with most guys at 130, but he doesn't have the pop to hang with the top guys, unless he can somehow transform himself into a master boxer.Exactly.
IMO, Davis' defense was actually surprisingly good, for the first 5 rounds. Especially his defensive footwork. He was "firing then getting out of the pocket" really well.
It was only in the final round when he seemed to completely forget about defense & just plow forward. (like his old self.) He obviously decided that Leo couldn't hurt him, and that it was time to finish things.
Huge props to LSC for a ballsy fight, he definitely made it exciting. However, despite amassing some points, he was really never in it. Not really.
