Larrys a legend, he's a bit past it now but he delivered some great moments. After the craziness of the Mayweather v Ortiz fight he still stole the show, something you'd never see kellerman and co doing. Larry used to ask some awkward questions and that was fun as fuck, the new guys just lick there arses.

Larry a G.
Indeed. :grin

Love how he generally just doesnt bother to hype the fight for the sake of tv and just says whatever he wants including just completely slagging the fight or the boxers off if they deserve it, always wondered how he got away with it.

With the late great Manny and Larry (also for other reasons obviously) not doing HBO now, who will they bring in?....Imagine if they got Tyson....Tyson talks great about Boxing man, he loves it, gets really exited talking about it.....Maybe controversial but that's my shout.
I think Tyson would either be great or really bad, he knows bags about boxing (obviously) but sometimes he goes to deep into his own mystical world of madness and he will veer off topic big time and maybe even make a fool of himself as in recent years it seems to me hes not quite sure of himself as a person anymore. Or he could be really great with some guidance he could be a real draw, plus I'm sure he would ask some interesting questions post fight.

I think HBO would struggle to justify employing a convicted rapist as a pundit.

Years as a print journalist and a great reputation. He was usually a great counter-point to Lampley's occasional cheer-leading.

IMO, HBO and Sky, et al need to hire younger broadcast teams. Especially in Sky's case when they studio crew seem completely clueless.

Yep, especially when it was lampley-merchant-foreman, I like the other 2 as well but they would just hype to silly levels and Merchant kept the broadcast sensible.

I suppose he's well old and maybe he's just retiring so good luck to him, hopefully he'll still pop up on occasion anyway.

Sky could definitely do with freshening things up, get rid of johnny fucking nelson for starters, boxings garth brooks.

I'd love to hear Hopkins on commentary.

I know he was doing the Internation feed for Cotto-Trout the other week, but I was too smashed to remember what he said.

He offered Floyd Out and then said that £4£ he would have schooled sweet pea. All this before the 25th vodka!

I'll miss the superstar.

Roy Jones was looking good before but the more he gets his brains bashed in, the more he's likely to fade. BHop would be good once he hangs them up, always talks a lot of sense and really knows the technical aspects.

I think Floyd will be good at it once he retires and drops the money gimmick. Seen some real good interviews with him when he drops his guard but for every one of them there are twenty where he goes on like a complete and utter prat.

Pity Marquez can't speak good English cause his Mexican show is quality.
