Yes, fair point. I guess I'm just a bit frustrated that he's not getting more exposure, after fighting on the Ward - Kovalev Bill. I've had another look at Collado, and he's pretty good, actually. He was a pretty big prospect himself, after winning an amateur Word Junior Title a few years ago. Based in Ireland now, I believe.

An update.
Williams is due to fight tomorrow night in Philly over 6 rounds. I think the original opponent pulled out, so they've had to draft in a late replacement, Antonio Rodriguez, who has lost more than he's won. I can't see what TW will learn form this fight, but I suppose it's important to keep busy. I hope his promoters get him some more challenging opposition soon, as he is a brilliant guy to watch.

After almost a year out. I'm glad to report that my favourite prospect is back in the ring with a first round stoppage of Mexican Jose Rodriguez. The fight happened back in February although, for some reason, Boxrec seems to have been slow in updating it. Although it's great to see him back in action, it's worrying that the reason for his long hiatus is that he was in jail again (for an undisclosed offence) for a few months last year. Still, let's hope that this talented kid is back on the straight and narrow for good, as he is brilliant to watch. Technically as good as anyone I've seen in recent years.

Good news. After a couple of tune-up fights, and a frustrating series of set-backs, including stupid and unnecessary brushes with the Law (entirely his own fault, admittedly) The highly talented New Haven southpawTramaine Williams is back this weekend on the Hooker - Ramirez undercard against the very powerful and muscular Yenifel Vicente who has stopped his last ten opponents. If Tramaine can win well against a dangerous opponent like Vicente, he could at last start to gain the sort of exposure that a fighter of his ability should be getting. Anyone who hasn't seen Tramaine Williams in action, try to catch him this weekend. You are in for a treat!

Me too. Vicente is a real threat I reckon. He has a helluva punch on him. His KO of previously unbeaten Juan Dominguez in 2015 was brutal, and Dominguez never fought again.

Glad to bring some good news related to Covid, for a change. Stephen Fulton has tested positive for the virus (not good news for him, of course), giving an opportunity at last for Tramaine Williams to get a crack at the vacant WBO World Super-bantamweight Title. Williams steps in as replacement for Fulton on Saturday night in CT this Saturday night where he will face undefeated Angelo Leo of Albuquerque. I've been telling anyone who will listen, how good Tramaine Williams is for what seems like years (Well it has been years, come to think of it). Now at last, after a lot of hiccups, he has the chance to prove me right. Leo is actually higher ranked than Williams. And, from the little I have seen of him, he is a very good fighter and a dangerous body puncher. So, whilst he will present a very stiff test for TW, I think that Williams is superior in almost every area. The bookies don't know how to price it, having both fighters at about evens or 10/11. In my opinion, anything close to evens for Williams to win is very good value. Certainly will be worth watching.

Yep. A surprisingly underwhelming performance from Williams.
He looked great for 2 rounds. I guess Leo's body attack got to him, or maybe Williams wasn't in good condition, who knows?

It's gonna' be a long while before he gets another shot, but at least he's still young.

Now I'm trying to decide if Leo is really that good, or if Williams simply shit the bed. Not sure....

He was in poor condition, I think. Hadn't fought for a year, although he seemed to make the weight easily enough. His breathing was very laboured in the second half of the fight. Sounded like a water buffalo, tbh. But by that time the fight had gone away from him. Leo was in much better shape, stronger, fitter and threw and landed many more punches than Williams, and was well deserving of his win. I don't think he would have beaten Williams a couple of years ago, but that is water under the bridge now. I don't think Leo will beat Fulton, when Fulton is clear of Covid. Aleem looks dangerous as well at super-bantam. As for Tramaine, I hope he finds the motivation to get back to the level he was at 2 or 3 years ago. I'm disappointed for him, but it has to be said that all of the distractions and problems that have derailed his career do come back to bite a fighter at some point. And, I must be honest, that is his own fault.
