We have no way of knowing Lara and his trainer specifically talked about breaking the title defense record before he said that comment. Same as we have no way of knowing GGG and his trainer didn't discuss him being able to beat anyone from 154-168 before he said that comment.

But if you do actually have something that shows/says these discussions happened/didn't, I'm sure we'd all love to read/watch.
You're too dense Div.

Stop. None of this matters.

Lara isn't in a position to "want" anything at 160. He means very little to that weight class. If he really wants to make a name for himself he and his fat manager know what to do, but they're not doing anything except whining on social media.
Yes! He's in a gigantic stable with several good fighters at 160 lbs. I think Khurtsidze is with Dibella who is with Gaymon. All easy fights to make as they have the same manager/brand.

Off the top of my head: Khurtsidze, Douglas, Quillin, Derevyanchenko, Khytrov, Sulecki, and Magomedov. Then you have guys like Lee and N'Dam who usually fight across promotions.

I mean it's super easy for Lara to move up and get a high profile fight at MW and earn a shot, but he chooses not to and fights guys like Delvin Rodriguez and Yuri Foreman. Then complain about it on Twitter like the world is ducking him.

Why doesn't he call out his stablemate Derevyanchenko? Derevyanchenko is very likely to enter an IBF eliminator against Tureano Johnson. Lara can take out Derevyanchenko and likely take his place in the IBF eliminator and become mandatory for Golovkin if he wanted to. Very simple, pretty fast approach to get a shot at Golovkin.

Exactly, it's not like he's Gamboa where he can't get a fight so he has to take it out on random guys that he sees in the gym.

He has Gaymon behind him, he could make it happen but it's up to him.
