His brother Shane Fury did say a few weeks ago he would prefer a Southpaw next in preparation for USYK.

Very interesting! (And it makes snese)
Ivan Ditchko is available, just sayin' ...

- But Fury would probably want a short southpaw, sadly. Ditchko is huge.
----------------------

My pick would be an Otto Wallin rematch. He's a very mobile southy with a short reach, an excellent boxer, and he gave Fury hell in that fight, despite losing wide on points.

I doubt the fight would sell as well as some other options, but it would be a great tune-up for Fury.

Eddie Hearn on DAZN ( AJ might not fight in December)

"Really now it’s up to AJ to see if he goes on December 17 or waits until January or February, the decision hasn’t been made yet.

"There’s a bit of a blow not fighting Tyson Fury and it’s a bit of a comedown, so he’s got to weigh up whether he’s going to go December 17 or give himself a little bit of extra time, so that’s a decision he’ll make in the next week or so."

When it came to potential opponents, Hearn expressed his desire for Joshua to face two well-ranked fighters and stated that plans have not changed since the collapse in negotiations with Fury.

"I always felt that after the Usyk fight, he should comeback with two top-15 guys, then Fury dangled the carrot and AJ took the bait, but now that’s not happening I think it’s still the same plan really."

Fury dangled the carrot, AJ took the bait and Hearn cut the line.
According to some speculators, Conor Benns positive test forced a change of schedule???

From December to January or February.

It might even be that Hearn's focus on the Fury-AJ contract was sufficiently distracted by Conor Benn's positive test that it became the straw that broke the camel's back? But I suspect Hearn not wanting the fight all along had more to do with it not getting signed.

Yeah that's no excuse Conor Benn's business shouldn't interfere with getting the cash cow a shot at the heavyweight title, Hearn's got plenty of staff he should learn how to use them, let Smith handle the Benn stuff and concentrate on the draw in the stable

I can't make the connection at all, it is 2:30 in the morning though so maybe that's why, I'll think about it again when I wake up
When ever there is a PED result anywhere in the world. People always bring up his name.
Ironically the 2 guys to make the most accusations Whyte and Miller both subsequently tested positive.

With Matchroom being under focus best to lie low until the heat dies down. Or AJ’s alleged use of T.U.E. ( therapeutics use exemption) might come under scrutiny again. It is all social media nonsense.

I personally think the change of date is probably more to do with the fact they don’t want to do an AJ PPV in December so soon after Tyson Fury’s PPV fight.

So much wrong here where to start? AJ's not standalone PPV anymore, they can't charge for AJ vs Arreola anymore no one's paying to see that, he needs a Fury or Wilder if he wants PPV money. Fury's fighting Chisora next for the third time, in no way, shape or form is that a PPV event either

AJ has a direct deal with DAZN that is his contract is separate from Matchroom minimum guarantee per fight is huge that it has to be PPV.

From what I read it’s 20 million per fight,

Both fights will be PPV in my opinion. Neither fighter is taking a pay cut. Chisora reportedly will get ÂŁ2 million. So for the promotions to make a potential profit it has to be a successful PPV.

That might have been the initial figure when the contract ws signed, but any lawyer with a functioning brain would have put various clauses and exceptions into it. I forget the legal term, but both parties typically have to meet certain requirements, and within certain time limits. So for instance, DAZN would probably have to deliver a minimum of two fights per year, with XXX amount spent on promotion, or they have to pay a huge penalty. (and / or the contract becomes void and AJ can renegotiate.)

But on the flip side, AJ probably only gets 20 mil per fight if he continues to WIN. These days, he might be working for cab fare.

I dont fully know the contract stipulations. Minimum fights per year is 2. The deal is in place for 5 years will be reviewed after that. He was also made an equity partner. (i.e. shareholder) and a member of the DAZN advisory board.

DAZN has not invested in AJ the boxer but AJ the global brand.

We will find out when he next fights. If his fights are PPV from here on out or not.

His fights internationally have been broadcast on DAZN for a while. This is the U.K. part of the Broadcast deal. And he is yet to fight on their U.K. platform the next fight will be his first. To date all his fights in U.K. have been on Sky Sports.
