Id said it before but sky have fallen into a habit of getting good/popular pros for commentary regardless of if they are actually any good. A shame about Froch but his time should be up for me as he certainly won't be improving his commentary style anytime soon. Oh mid fight recently he caught himself midsentence going on about Pac man and his great fights with Mexicans - think it was anyway, was when Quigg was fighting that Bantamweight who was tough. You could feel the panic when he realized he only knew the name of Morales when he should have been listing them off.

I was going to post the exact same thing. I can understand not knowing a random foreign guy but Pulev had fought Klitschko, it was shocking

Haye's good on heavyweights & fighters he knows like Groves & Frampton.

The problem is he doesn't follow the British scene so wouldn't have a clue about most of the fighters on Sky unless they're with McGuigan or were with Booth & most of the amateurs he came through with are retired

haye is good and that's not just because i'm a huge haye fan. i do think the haye of 10 years ago would be even better because he genuinely followed boxing properly. he let himself down scoring so many rounds even though.

malignaggi and macklin with that new commentator they occasionally have is the best set of 3 for me. Why they dont' have andy Clarke or whatever his name is on more is beyond me.

bellew seriously knows his stuff. whatever you say about him he keeps up all the weight divisions. paul smith, despite being an utter bellend, has the decency to call stuff that other fighters don't see

god only knows how nelson has a job. and of course froch is the worst of the lot (aside from the one analytical appearance degale made on ringside).

if you think haye is a bad pundit i would question that the standard you think other pundits are at is perhaps slightly skewed

Froch has said in the past though that he doesn't follow the sport at all. Even still he'd be better off just commentating on what's happening instead of pretending he knows who these fighters are.

You'd imagine though that Sky are paying him well for this job so you'd think they'd be making sure their analyst knew their shit. I mean it's going to take up a huge amount of your time to sit down and watch a couple of recent fights and know a bit of a fighters backstory.
