He's overrated as a trainer imo, he's never produced one fighter proven at world level yet, not one world champion. I hope his arrogance declines once Paul and Stephen Smith are found out badly at World level, and Crolla. I can't stand mouthy trainers not your place to talk down about other fighters, he does it contently talking shit about other fighters Frampton, Murray, Fielding ect. For a man who's achieved so little he sure has an ego at the minute he's produced nothing more then fighters who've done well at domestic level. He will cost his own fighters due to his ego, why didn't he throw in the towel for Murray against Rios? Stopping his fighters from getting themselves the money fights, i hope he does what's best for the likes of the Smiths and Crolla if their taking a beating i hope his ego isn't to big and he pulls his guys out.

Scott Quigg?! What the fuck are you on about not one world champion? ;)

funnily enough even if you counted the Regular belt as a world title Quigg still wouldn't be a world champion, seen as he drew with Salinas. Anyway i get your joking and on the wind up seriously though he's never taken a fighter to world level yet has a bigger ego then Freddie Roach.

I used to get annoyed by the Sky interviews with him at the end of a fight but now I can almost know what he says beforehand

Depends entirely on whether he's acting as manager as well as trainer to the lads. If he's not a manager then he gets no say in a choice of opponent, he can give his input on whether he feels its good or bad but he can't make the decision.

I think this is the key,and we don't seem to have confirmation one way or the other.

Just something makes me think that gallaghers doubles as his fighters trainer and manager.

To be honest it makes sense,an ex pro who is clearly intelligent Gallagher is taking overall control over his lads career guides.and as frustrating as some of his decisions are for us,the proof is in the pudding.he has done great work with them.

They aren't in the best overall interests of a fighter though. If he thinks the best route to a world title is to fight journeyman until a shot comes up then they aren't prepared when it ultimately does. Stephen Smith beating up journeyman for a year before facing Miura prepares him how? Crolla going life and death with Derry, Rees and Murray then fighting journeyman whilst he waits for a shot prepares him how? Its a joke and it needs to be stopped

Best interests as a manger is to ensure your client makes the maximum he can financially whilst doing the least amount of damage to himself physically.

Well that's the way it see it.

And as a trainer and friend its to win a world title. Even as a a manager its to maximise earnings, you do that by giving yourself the very best possible shot at winning a world title.

Could argue that by taking the easiest route to a title by waiting & beating journeymen that youre maximising the damage youre gonna take in the title fight though

I hate that route fighters are taking.but I can see why Gallagher may believe it's best for his fighter.(as a manager)

If the 2 jobs are contradicting themelves then it's a bit of an issue in my opinion.

most trainers are consulted so have a big say. Theyre probably in the best position to advice wether it's a fight there fighter can win.

No use asking a fighter of cause they'll just say yes.

For what its worth, when I spoke to Hearn it came across that Fielding would be the one stopping that fight.
Not what Rocky said mate, this fight hasn't even been put to him.

I`m sure that Gallagher said in an ifilm interview that Crolla is self managed. How is Hearn supposed to sell Crolla-tick over fight at the MEN to the fans and Sky.If they are going to fight n that show as the chief support he will have to fight someone meaningful(if not as tough as Lundy)if not and they want a tick over fight then it should be on the fightpass.Promoters get stick when they put on a poor show but when roadblocks like this is put up it must be a pain in the arse to put on fights what you would like to.

Hearn should just come to them and say;

Option 1) Hank Lundy at the MEN for ÂŁ50k
Option 2) 8 Round keep busy fight on the red button for ÂŁ5k plus any personal ticket sales
Option 3) No fight

Give me an answer by Friday.
